I punched the button this morning. A black X2 is on it's way to me now.
It will prove an interesting comparison between how the X2 works compared to the Ricoh GXR-M fitted with Skopar 28 and OVF. And how differently they image, of course. I'm looking forward to learning it.
onwards!

The best camera is one that still works!
I have to say Dave I'm no real fan of this camera due to it's price.
BUT ... the colours in the images being posted here are very impressive and the over all look of the images is very different to Xpro X100 etc.
I'm also very happy that you are so pleased with it ... it obviously 'fits' with you well.

Add a summicron lens. Cmon even the 40mm minolta ones are exact as the 40mm summicrons for 400-500.
the x10 is even a better option at this point.
you can fit a built in viewfinder in it.
manual focusing ring
manual aperture ring
higher res oled screen
brass plates
The only thing intresting about the x1 , x2 is that it's the only point and shoot with a real leica lens , and others buy it because of its looks....

Poster #383... you don't post your name or where you are located.
Once again, I will politely ask that posters please allow owners, users and interested members to discuss the Leica X cameras without trolling, without comparisons of other cameras and without bringing in argumentative statements like this. Other members on RFF have respected this and we would appreciate YOUR respect for us.

Thanks, Keith, the X cameras do what I am looking for. I saved up for four months to pay for a $1000 camera with less than a thousand clicks. Accessories are easy to find for little money as well, like the A&A strap.
I was able to use the camera for a few months before buying it and knew immediately that it would be the tool of choice on my next project alongside the M3. That project is now underway and I can't compare and will not compare with any other cameras because, as you say, it fits me well. I am deliriously happy learning the strengths of this camera and hope to pair it with another down the road for a backup camera.
I love this camera. In a different way than the M3 for sure...it is kinda like my grandchildren whom I dearly love but each one differently.

Not X2 but X1, Lithuanian skies
Reminds me a bit of Die Holle (Hell) from Hans Thoma, c. 1910

I guess the X2 can do the same and more
