16 rolls of film (not counting any that might still be loaded), two bodies (plus any not in the frame), five lens and only two days?!?!? Wow, you've been busy, Simon. Do you have more than two hands? Looking forward to seeing some results when you get caught up with what appears to be a healthy backlog.

it was a 'long' weekend, more like 3.5 days. but still a lot of frames / day, yes.
I had the M4 + 35mm f1.2 Nokton with me and the M2 + 50mm f2 collapsible Summicron, only put the 21mm f4 and 35mm f3.5 Summaron on the M2 for a few shots. Not one frame with the big 90mm f2 though, I just took it with me because there was enough space left in my backpack (among the mininum amount of clothes needed, film and the little shoulder bag that I would actually walk around with. toothbrush too. 😀 )
But... I did buy an Olympus XA2 for my g/f on the street (Brick Lane) the day before I left, and of course I had to try it out 😀
so that made for another 4 rolls :bang: ...
the actual backlog is now ~18 rolls with the first 2 hanging to dry already.

Simon, you are truly a workhorse. I am impressed. I look forward to seeing some of those 18 rolls soon. That's a heavy backpack.

Hehe its funny how people differ on how much is a lot. I regularly shoot 25 rolls (one ziplock bag full) in a weekend if I'm away from home on work etc. A heavy weekend (Paris, Budapest or somewhere photogenic) would be 50+ at a minimum.

When I'm on a trip, I shoot 3-5 Rolls a day, 3-5 a night. So from a weekend most of the time I return with 20 rolls.
Nothing special, once in 3-6 months.

I tend to shoot like crazy with my M8 and more conservatively with my M2 and with utter miserliness with Rolleicord. 1200 images in a week in Paris on the M8. Never more than a roll or two in day with the others. I think film makes me work more slowly and deliberately. For me, this is probably a good thing, as it forces me to consider what I'm looking at before I click. With digital, I throw all cares to the wind and snap away with total abandon. With film, I operate as if at some point I might exhaust my supply and need to conserve.
Anyway, 50 rolls? That's a lot to scan for me. I'd never get caught up and the rate I move. Hats off to you guys for your ability to manage that workflow. I'd never be able to keep pace.

New to me M4 acquired via Samy's Camera on ebay for $759. Seems to be in very good condition overall with the vulcanite intact in all but one or two little spots and a wrinkle on the top plate. But I'm lensless until I receive the 50mm DR Summicron and 5cm Summitar from Sherry Krauter that I bought from her last week. While I have extensive rangefinder experience this is my first Leica and I can see what all the fuss is about. What a view through the VF!

Is the black tape to make it less attractive to thieves? I wouldn't have thought most thieves would take a second look at a rangefinder?
