I'm calling it an M234
That's a wonderful camera! The combination of black paint M2 aesthetics, M3 finder and quick loading sure is a dream ;-)

and the irony of not actually having a 50...
Thanks for the comments! This is something I've wanted to do for a long time...take the best features of each M and combine them. Well if not 'best' then certainly my personal preference.
•Clean lines of the M2 lever rewind
•High magnification finder (my eyes are thanking me)
•Simplicity of no self timer (could have also done away with the frame preview lever too as I won't be using 90 or 135 lenses)
•Closer focus of the M2
•M4-tulip style film take up
•as little chrome as possible...black lugs, and even the Frankenstein bolts are painted. The only chrome bits are the lens release, shutter button and surround, the spring loaded bits in the cold shoe. The film door is original so it still has a chrome film reminder but that can be done later.

Not to worry; three options for 50s currently.

It was salvaged from an ailing Nikon 35Ti. MS Optical conversion.

I know it's not as exotic as so many others in this thread, but I'm pretty happy with my M6 kit at the moment since picking up the Summilux. I just noticed I have a very black on black theme going on here too.

I'll continue with that theme!
Nice
Where did you get your black Leica dot? I have no idea where my black "Leitz" dot camera from as it was on the camera when I bought it.

Mine came exactly like you see as well! Actually I'm the 3rd RFF member to own this M6! Really dig the M3 style lever!

Reconnected.
I just picked this up on the classifieds and I'm so stoked to have my pair of lifer cameras. The MP and the M-A together will easily cover my needs for the forseeable future.

Very cool. Is that a fixed AA strap?

Thanks! It's actually the "Deluxe Voigtlander Camera Strap", made by Artisan and Artist. I got it when I bought a Bessa but like it so much I just use it on my Leica's also.Very cool. Is that a fixed AA strap?
