Let's see your Leica M

At one time I had a Photo Equip ML grip in black for my M6 TTL Millennium. Sold the grip when I sold the camera. Been trying to track one down for a while, even trying to contact Photo Equip without much luck. Earlier this week, I decided to look again and Popflash had a new one in silver at a discounted price.

Leica M2 and 8 element homage

Leica M2 and 8 element homage

M2 painted in Matt black by CRR Luton. Summicron asph 35 (V) homage to the 8 element. Only a few made and painted by Kanto in Japan. Original 8 element hood also painted to match the lens... the hood works perfect on this homage to the 8 element summicron. Waited a long time for this and I even had DAG install coated viewfinder windows, a M4 loading spool, a lens release guard, and a M6 eyepiece so it doesn’t scratch my glasses.

This baby is a keeper...

Just found this and picked it up.
I've never seen something this vintage look this new. Let alone a Leica M2 with a Elmar 50mm f/2.8.

Some people can hand-hold a lower speeds than others. It's not really dependent on the camera, at least when comparing those of similar types (in this case, focal plane shutter rangefinder.)

Don't understand why no-one has commented on this yet, what a gorgeous combo! I had the same summicron once from the grey anthracite MP, but sold the lens. I regret it to this day, but cannot get myself to buy another with the going prices now.

I've since imagined getting another one in black chrome. Glad I'm not alone in thinking this way!

This beauty may be the last of my cameras to go, as soon as the M-A arrives. But it still has a chance to contribute to the thread.
Can't say for sure, but you may get the M-A and wonder what you've gained over the M2.

Don Goldberg ("DAG") can upgrade your M2 to M4-type film loading for about $200.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. A brighter finder and the lovely black chrome look & feel would suffice, I think. But should I really miss a meter, I can always try the equation M2 + M-A = MP.

You know the M-A has no meter either, right?

Regardless, an MR (or MC) Leica-meter will work equally well on both M2 and M-A.

Off topic but is that a strap from the guy on finn? Do you like it? If you can afford it, you should keep the camera as a backup. I regret parting with mine.
