Thank you! I did not buy this new but I did get it from the second owner and that it wasn't bought that long ago. Not more than a few years ago I think but I'm not 100% on it.
Maybe the chrome battery cover?

That's the only thing that appears to be ALC... unless the covering is too? The boxes shown in the YJ auction are also marked ALC, if that counts.

Hard to say, Jon. The skin looks to me like the one they used for the M240 so I thought maybe Leica were standardising on that pattern for all M cameras. The battery cover on my brown ostrich reskinned chrome MP, which you so hate, has a silver rimmed battery cover with ostrich skin inlay. I don't think it started as an ALC.
If the YJ MP is ALC then the ALC choices are very subtle, almost like it's a standard MP. Anyway it's all moot really. All MPs are nice MPs!

Here's my latest contribution to this thread: The M-A I got just yesterday. Whether this is also my last contribution will depend on this camera's effectiveness as a final GAS solution.
Edit: I've had several M2s, M6, M6ttl and M7. Can't recall that any of them had such a bright and contrasty finder. Maybe the M7, but surely not the other ones.

Not sure about the difference, but on my Nokton it only says "classic" (I've had it as my primary lens for a few years and it does the job the way I like).

I shot a couple of rolls on my Leica M3 and only a few of the frames came out. I had the color rolls developed on a CD but most of the roll didn't come out. I took the empty camera out last night and about 1/8 of an inch of the shutter doesn't completely disappear when it is released. Now the only tech in Houston has retired that could have worked on it or at least tested it I have to send it off. There is a person I believe in California Ye ---- that I have used before and I guess I can look up his address and send it off?
