Let's see your Leica M

Regarding the M-9 bottom brace:
I had my M-9 equipped with a RRS bottom and quick release dovetail side bracket.
I had it on my tripod with a heavy flash, long range flash attachment, Viso and long
lens. I tripped over it wandering in the dark on the way to the bathroom knocking
it over and the flash was smashed as it took the blow… but now the bottom tab was
loose was well… giving me the Bottom Off message. I believe the casting is cracked
at the tab retaining skew which I can’t get to.
So I used a little stainless machine screw and acorn nut…. in the strap mount ear….nut ground slightly to
provide clearance for the side bracket when the bottom is removed and I drilled
two holes in the RSS bracket so a 3/16 rod with thumbscrews would address the
nut firmly and retain the bottom. It works great.

I finally gave in...

I like that combination and design of the MP !
It looks like an M6 without the dot but with MP levers and wind-on. Black chrome, M7 'leather' and M7 rewind. No engravings, .72 VF. It is perfect. I've put about thirty or forty rolls through it.

Matches my .58 alc MP in looks:

Oh, and I've got this prototype M19...

It is nice. I considered an à la carte earlier this year and was tempted by an almost identical MP (I would have also gone for the 3 frames option) but couldn't bring myself to spend £4265 ($6800) on an M6 without the dot.

What shall I say.... When i first got my M8 in June, the Leica bug bit me.... and as a single Leica is just not enought, I got my second today: A beautiful M6....

Contact Leica, this style comes (or came anyway) with the a la carte MP bodies as an extra. There was a standard 'leather' covered cap supplied as well. My MP3 came with one as an extra as well. Never got a new M7, so I don't know if this style is available for the M7- tho I think (can't remember for sure) that an a la carte M7 I got second hand had this type.

They are quite easy to open, tho the buffalo nickels I use to change batteries do tend to mar the finish of the cap- note the older body at left- it's been through a bunch of battery changes.

I've been watching this thread for so long and can finally make a contribution. My M2, 35 lux, 50 cron & 90 elmarit finally got here...

That's a lovely M2 with 35 lux ! Mind to tell me how much did you pay for your 35 lux? I've been lusting for one but it's way overpriced due to recent inflation.

My M6 TTL, just done replacing the dot few days ago.

Menos, that's the Gang of Three-point-Four!
Haha Johan ;-)
Yes - this is my most favorite wide angle lens and my most favorite tele lens.
Man, I love that 21mm - couldn't have somebody had kicked me in the n@#$ and have explained me a few years early, how sweet 21mm really is ???

looks a good sized bag almost like domke but different clips what kind is it?

It's an older model of a A&A bag, I think, ACAM-7000 is the model name.
I think, it could be a bit wider (not higher, not deeper, the same flat, but longer). It's nice, soft, black canvas and is also quite good in the rain, if not hiking for hours. I don't like the non removable shoulder strap.
… stil didn't found the ideal bag, but this is stuck with me already for more than a year, so it must be good somewhat.

I am shooting mostly two bodies, shuffling them through the bag, when changing and have one or two other lenses with me in the bag.

For this, the bag is a tight fit - fits nicely, but you hang once in a while.
It's really ideal for shooting one body only and have a small meter, 2 lenses and some film in the pockets

Here is a crappy photo from my Iphone 4......today I went out and bought 60 rolls of film.....I am going back to Myanmar next month and I was worried about the availability of film in this city......many things are hard to find now due to the flooding......so today after work I took a trip down to the photo store to see if they had any film and I bought some film ( I wll buy some more rolls next week)....I plan on going for 21 days to Myanmar and I want to have enough film...I am just starting to plan a little early because things here in Bangkok are a little "hit and miss"......anyways, here is a photo of the film and gear....this is the film that I always use when I go to Myanmar.......

on a side note, I went to my local lab to drop off about 20 rolls of film from Cambodia last week and they told me that they can not develop/scan them due to the floods (they send out the film).....they are waiting for things to start back up again (they told me in a couple of weeks things will be back to normal)......it's ok though, I can wait for the stuff from Cambodia....but I will shoot a roll of film through each M camera before my Myanmar trip and drop off at a local one hour lab just to check that the cameras are working properly......

M3/M2/M6ttl.....15mm vc, 28 elmarit (broken focus tab and hood), 35mm 1.2, 50 summilux, 90 summicron....

cheers, michael
