Just received my M4 from Gus Lazzari after CLA. His attention to detail is second to none...not sure what he treated the chrome and vulcanite with, but the camera is stunning. These photos do not do it justice...

To complete the picture and join the Epson R-D1 and Mamiya 7 it was time to take the plunge.
A beautiful M4 purchased from Foto Brell in Frankfurt during my recent trip. It's two years younger than I am but in near mint condition. Horst at Foto Brell was great to buy from.
First film inside, can't wait to develop it. Now to order a meter and a nice half-case...

Thanks Paul. I bought this camera on eBay. It had a corroded MR meter on top and no other pics. I assumed it would have the usual top plate scratches but luckily there are none. It had never been serviced and the shutter fired automatically every time the film was advanced. I put some black parts on it and let Gus have at it. Viewfinder is so clear I'm not sure I'm looking through glass!

Menos i didn't like the strap too on my A&A 7100, got it replaced by a Domke 2.0" replacement strap, fit is great, yes you'll have to cut the A&A strap to make the change. They great bags.

May I ask, how do you meter - 1) with the M6, 2) with an external meter or 3) by the eyes?
Is this the film of your posted color film shots from former Myanmar trips - I always liked those color photographs of yours!

I am a bit envious on that f3.4 SA, looking for a nice smaple for a looong time now. I will have my eyes peeled for preferably a 1977 made f3.4 sample.

Hello Menos and thanks for the nice compliment .....my M6ttl is my main camera so I usually meter with that....if I am using my m2/m3 I'll use a Sekonic light meter, the light meter app on my iPhone or I'll just use my eyes......
Yes, that's the film that I always use when I go to Myanmar....I like the look of it a lot.....I am so excited to go back next month for 21 days and just concentrate on photography.....

I really like the Summitar's rendering - classic portrait look with beauty swirl!
Only thing, I miss is click stops, which is, why I use the collapsible Summicron more.
Can you collapse your Summitar into the M9, once mounted?
I didn't do with mine, as I was to lazy, to measure it - looks fairly deeper protruding, than the Summicron.

It looks similar to mine, which get's little use actually, as I shot mostly with two bodies with me.
This is the ideal "one and only camera", as this rig is HEAVY

Any M with a Rapidwinder has extra credit with me.
Mine is a presshound-battered chrome-and-brass M2 with a Rapidwinder. It had one previous owner since 1963 and has dings and scratches all over it but still works like a charm. With the Rapidwinder and a 35mm lens it is the most tactile camera I could wish for.
