My Humble New Acquisition - Leica M2
My Humble New Acquisition - Leica M2
My very first recently purchased Leica M along with a Canon LTM 35/2 lens..
Not the greatest of condition but I love it.
Looking to find me a nice leather strap and a soft release button.
Coming soon... 50/2 Summicron Collapsible.

HH: no surprise and hope you enjoy it. M5 never resonated with me-we'll be curious what you think of it coming from other Leica M cameras.
So far I'm in Love, but i figure it gets down to this:
1) a new love to pamper & swoon over...she just purrs in her click
2) the mechanics, ergonomics of this minty M5 is just stellar
My only fear is the weight, boy is 'she' a BIG girl !

My only fear is the weight!
The M5 is a camera from the golden age of the reflex cameras: Nikon F and F2, Canon F1 and the Leicaflexes. Compared to these beasts the M5 is small and light weight. Everything is relative.

Picked up a working Leica MC for $20. Between this and the iPhone app I've been using I shouldn't have to worry about getting accurate exposures

roundg;}Congratulations! Helen. But was it the reason that you sold your SA21? Try to put a Softrelease on M5 said:Cool 'roundg', Thanks !
I will try a soft release,...My two Favorites i got from Tom A are the 'Lucky 8' and the 'Ying/Yang' ..
sadly i lost my 'RFf' one
As for the 21SA, i have a love/hate relationship with the 21 fov
Funny though its still here...the 21 which Andre bought is having his brother pick it up in NY next month,
Now I am thinking should I keep it & refund the moula ....arghhh
My continuing dilemma with the 21...![]()

If you dont want to drop that beauty I would suggest that you should have a look at the Leica instructions regarding the strap attaching..

Leica MP black paint with Leicavit and Fujinon 5cm f/1.2
Nikon S2 black paint with 5cm f/3.5 micro nikkor
In the background is a '59 Nikon F and a Deardorff. I'm very jealous of my friend who inherited all of this stuff from a relative. Some people get lucky.

Oh yes. I hope no one would repaint a silver MP! But this one is originally black. Very rare. Crazy low serial number.

Absolutely wow! What a collection of gear to inherit ;-)
You have one lucky friend there - not just for the monetary value of these items but for they are some of the most beautiful cameras and lenses there are!
