This setup, particularly with the wear and patina reminds me of something from the U.S. Civil War era. It's rather tattered in appearance and I approve!

Sure!

Leica MP, TTH Cooke Amotal 2" f/2, 400-2TMY/Adox MCC 110.

The lens is from 1948 and is optically descended from the Speed Panchro, a lens that was widely used on movie cameras.

Not mine, I saw this at the Newseum in Washington, DC: Nick Ut's camera & lens he used to shoot the Pulitzer Prize-winning photo of children burned by napalm in Vietnam 1972.

This picture was take by him just moment before the "Napalm Girl" photo:

All bodies and lenses have a fresh CLA, all in mint condition. The original black paint arrived today, the Summicron lens yesterday. Can't wait to go shooting with this new combo! Now I have to decide: Gordys wrist strap or Gordys shoulder strap?

That Cooke IS rangefinder coupled! Think they originally came on Reid cameras from the UK? I'm sure Eric can tell you more!

Yes, the Amotal is rangefinder coupled. It was made by TTH for the American "Foton" camera, in 1948. Some of those lenses have recently been remounted for Leica and mirrorless cameras. The optical design is based on the Speed Panchro, also made by TTH, a famous cine lens. Yes, it is a 2" f/2 lens. Certainly very British indeed.
