I like the idea of the quieter shutter and the higher ISO capability.

Did I miss something? Does the 262 go to a higher ISO, or does it have less noise at high ISO's? The specs for both cameras say they go up to 6400 and they have the same sensors. Is the processor different?

It's fun to see what lens you really gel with.

Anyway, if you don't want it and want to buy new, the 262 makes a lot of sense.

I already know that I gel with that Minolta lens, I don't need to hook it up to a Leica rangefinder to know that. My Minolta SRT 102 still works perfectly. 😀

I think that was in comparison to his previous Leica M-E, not the M typ 240.

Given that with the current offers the typ 262 is practically the same price as the typ 240, is there any reason to go with the 262 aside from the lower weight?

I have seen some suggestions that some of the high ISO limitations on the typ 240 are better on the 262 - ie less banding and less tinting of the shadow areas. However, I have never seen any image that was obviously different...
