Nikon D7000 vs Fuji X100

The only unique shutter adjustment has to do with fast shutter speeds at wide apertures. In this case one must activate the built in ND filter so a slower the shutter speed can be used without overexposure.

One must also rememember to deactivate the ND filter when things change and a fast shutter speed and wide aperture are no longer used together.

EDIT: I notice you have Nikon F's (and I assume F lenses to play on them) . . . so I have made up my mind now. Toss the D7000 overboard and get the X100.

Given the well-known Nikon compatibility shouldn't that be a reason to stay with the D7000 😕

Ok, never mind I might be sleepy...

In any case, the more I read the thread the more I think that if one has a D7000 and despite liking the Fuji is not completely sure whether to change or not, plus has many Nikon lenses, given that whatever you like in the Nikon is counterbalanced by somenthing in the Fuji and viceversa, probably one should just grab whatever one has and take picture rather than thinking whether one or the other gives some small tiny advantage or disadvanntage.

I must admit shooting the D7000 with a 28/2.8 AiS lens is joyful; for digital. Had a great night walking the seedy side of Miami Beach with my M3. Filled with folks of all kinds, mostly escaping the great white north. High of 87 F. today.

1. The X200 rumors will pan out, I'm pretty sure. The Fuji reps I talked to were very confident that it will be announced at CES.

2. The XPro1 RAW conversion problems are (a) overstated, and (b) have essentially been solved by Phase One. I know this because I am beta testing the next release of Capture One Pro, and the IQ out of RAW files from the Fuji XTRANS sensor is absolutely stellar. What Phase One can do, Adobe can also do and I would expect to see announcements about that at CES with respect to LR5 and the next version of ACR.

Interesting that the photorumor announcement didn't mention the 16Mp Xtrans sensor. I wonder if the new X100/200 will have a new sensor as was predicted in earlier posts there. I'm hoping they decide to use the sensor used in the XPro1 camera.

You might also want to think about the X-E1 plus the new 27/2.8 (due out early this year). This could be a great walk-around 40mm kit. And this camera has no need for AA filter and thus can produce sharper images that the Nikon. 🙂

my thought as well...i'm looking more forward to the 27 than the 23...
