I'm a free agent now, but hope for slightly more sober female attention at the White Horse. (Of course, given Thomas' infamous fate, I can't say I'm too optimistic.)

Bump.
I was wondering if anyone comming to the Meet-Up uses Rodinal, because in the spirit of the holidays I will bring some modest door prizes.

Love me the holidays.
Cal, you bringing your Santa hat?
I'll have some film to distribute myself, Tri-X no less. Some like theirs with a side of Rodinal.
Should be fun. See everyone Saturday.

"Reflecting its slight hydrophilic character, the white powder is moderately soluble in alcohols and can be recrystallised from hot water."
Hmmm... a nice dark beer with a shot of Rodinal dumped in it sounds mighty tasty...

You know me. As an artist, by definition I am an exhibitionist, and as you know I kinda like to stand out in a crowd. I like to think of myself as a tourist attraction. LOL.
BTW my new Plaubel is a freak and a very interesting conversation piece. Its just strange like the likes that I've never seen. First it is big, but then there is a lot of engineering that becomes evident. Still its a crazy camera that projects a response of WTF. The veiwfinder swivels and tilts like a peroscope when the rise and shift is used. Then there is a looping cable release, and the dog-legged back that forms a grip for the left hand. All I know is that its a great camera. BTW it was a dusty Shelf-Queen that takes us back to the early to mid-eighties.

This looks like a fun meet. Is a native New Yorker now living in the Philadelphia area welcome to join your meet-up?
I'd love to meet some fellow rangefinder shooters. Only joined the Leica club this year.

Seems like a high probability of extending the New York urban legend that started around this time last year with the drunk girls. Plus its Damaso's birthday.
LATE GEAR ALERT: Even though I've been a very-very bad boy this year treaspassing, buying way too much gear, and doing risky dumb things with cameras, I am likely purchasing a Fuji BL690 kit (this Fuji has interchangable lenses and is savagely over built). The lenses are: 65/5.6 (28mm equiv.); 100/3.5 (40mm equiv.); and 150/5.6 (60mm equiv.). This kit along with the Plaubel (21mm equiv with rise and shift) is kinda loud even though the leaf shutters are kinda quiet. It has been reported that these all metal bodied Fuji's weigh a pound heavier than the newer plastic fixed lens models.
Using John's words: BLAMO.
HO-HO-HO...HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Cal, make sure to bring these beasts with you... I love these cameras. I used some of the big plastic Fujis in the 90s. I never got my hands on a Plaubel or the metal Fujis, so I'm anxious to see them.

BLAMO and hopefully DOUBLE BLAMO.
I'm excited because at lunchtime I will see the Fuji Kit and hopefully buy it. A friend/collector has to raise some cash for the holidays so I expect choice samples of 1974 vintage. The Plaubel was a "Shelf Queen" that had a layer of dust on it, but it cleaned up to be just like new.
BTW I kinda miss herding the guys together into a rowdy gang and going shooting, but my work has grown a lot due to going solo. I've kinda gotten both wilder and crazier. I have fond memories. Remember the night I almost got pancaked by a Fresh Direct truck. LOL.
Also shooting Tri-X at 1000, HP5 at 800, Fuji Arcos at 160, and developing with Diafine for great for night shooting and harsh-harsh contrast with mixed lighting. Very edgy.

I'm always down...haven't been to LIC in awhile. However, I think I do my best alone too. That said, it's cool to see what others are drawn to when out with others. Jeff and I went last Sunday in the LES. Rachel and I meet at times too to photograph.

I keep on running into Jeff in Madhattan. We had lunch one time to catch up.

Word. First round's on me, y'hear?
Meanwhile: I just learned there's a rather important package waiting for me at the Post Office. depending on the contents, I may have a very special door-prize for tomorrow, but no promises.

I'm going to shift through some stuff. I'm sure to bring many weird, unusual, bizzare surprises to give away as door prizes.
