New York October NYC Meet-Up

I'll incidentally be in NYC at that time and who knows, I might come!

T,

As stated above: the Group-Up at the Javets Center is at 10:00 AM Saturday morning; the regular Meet-Up is at 1:00 PM at the Westside location that he picks and decides upon.

Cool! I'll bring my rollei.
Have we finally become an established entity now that the camera manufacturers are marketing to?

If so, someone from Fuji should attend when I bring my Kodak Stereo Realist X Pan hack! Or maybe Mamiya could drop by and listen to my pitch for the digital Mamiya 6.

Ok, I can dream.

Christian,

Soon in February we will have the 5th Annual Camera Beauty Contest. Perhaps we can get some corporate sponsorship. We frequently have visitors from all over the world, and I for one buy a lot of cameras. LOL.

Pro-Mone,

How's the 2.8 after the overhaul from Harry?

Cal

Cal, I haven't used it much. Been tied down with work a lot. But it's incredibly smooth. Barely feel the rewind and the shutter doesn't have the raspy sound it had pre-cla. Overall i'am very happy. Money well spent I think. Thanks for recommending him to me.

Pro-Mone,

That Fleenor sticker on the inside of your camera is very valuable. The trick with the Rollie is to not let it sit on the shelf too long.

Unlike a Leica that gets an overhaul which comes back with a stiff film advance and a loud shutter your Rollie will only get a little bit quieter and smoother, and your Rollie will maintain that quietness and smoothness, but only if used regularly.

My 3.5 F often requires me to crank the film advance to know that the shutter has fired because I can't hear or feel the shutter, and its been about 4 years since it got a complete overhaul from Harry.

I don't think I need to see more of the expo. I will be at the new beer place.

Joe, I originally didn't manage to go to one of these until they held one a block from my house, and I didn't have an excuse. It is generally a pretty relaxed affair.

Have fun guys. Wish I could make it. Made a day trip today, had a lot of fun walking around the city taking photos and going to the expo.

Was planning to go but the kids' fall harvest/Halloween festivities have priority! Would have been nice to see you 2 again - Cal & John.... Was also looking forward to putting more faces to names !

If you're ever in the Canadian Rockies, give me a shout.
