oly 25mm 2.8

I recently purchased a 25/2.8 lens for my pen ft. I love the lens but I am a little surprised at how big it is, especially compared to my tiny 25/4 and 38/1.8. Also since it is equivalent of a 35/2.8 in 35mm , it seems bigger that full frame 35mm OM lenses. Anyways, my question is why? Is there some lens engineering issue where as the focal length gets smaller, it is more difficult to make a fast but light lens. Just curious if anyone knows.

Mine doesn't look that big... which OM 35mm lens is smaller than that?

I have to ask..where did you find such a lens? I look for one from time to time but they seem to be thin on the ground!?
