For a rangefinder: Fujifilm GF670w, Kodak Ektar 100.

But if any camera then definitely before my first choice my Hasselblad SWC and Kodak Ektar 100.

Well, this is tough because I'd hate to limit myself as I prefer some versatility in my tools, but I suppose I could get by pretty well with:

M6TTL .58, ZM35/2.8 C-Biogon, Portra 400. I really like B&W, but you can't turn B&W into color 🙂

I don't know if I could do that, one camera, one lens. But if I had to, it would be something sturdy with a meter in it and a 50mm lens with around 1.8-2 on the aperture. Filmwise I'd probably go with the Arista EDU Ultra 400. I could use a filter to reduce light for brighter situations when I want to control the depth of field, but it's still got enough lattitude for low light and smaller aperture situations. And the performance to me is excellent along with the price.

I like using the M6 a lot more than my R3A so that is an easy choice

Would you care to, within the thread's intentions, explain this a little? I've got an R4A myself and an M3 and am looking at M6's at some point. Just curious as to what draws you to the M6 over the Bessa for a one camera/one lens combo or in general. 😀

I tried this for a while, and for me it didn't work. However, the upside was that I got to know Tri-X and XTOL very well, and got a lot of really great shots. I've since switched back to HP5+ and stick to it most of the time. That said, if I can use my dSLR any time the limitations are impractical, then in the fantasy world I'd take:
MP with 50 Summilux
...and in the real world I'd use my:
M6 with 50/2 (Summicron or Planar, both excellent)

That's a toughie...

I think it would have to be my Leica 111b fitted with SCNOO rapidwinder and collapsible Summicron 50.

The 111b has just been serviced (for the second time in the 26 years of my ownership), so it's as smooth as silk, with excellent rangefinder contrast.

I've used it frequently for streetshooting, as it's small and inconspicuous and onlookers don't take it seriously, thinking it's a toy (!).

It's capable of quickfire shooting when needed, with the excellent SCNOO winder, and with SOOKY attachment fitted, capable of closeups, so those bases are covered.

Keeping my nine IXMOO's constantly loaded with HP5, and plenty more available in the freezer, I think I could exist quite happily for a year using just those tools.

I'll have to try it sometime.....

Between 1974-1980 I shot ONLY with a fujica ST701 and a 50mm fuji f1.4 lens, all Tri-x.

I'd like to try something like that again, but not for clients!

This is my current setup, with the voight 35/2.5, actually all the camera gear I own.
However, if we were going hypothetical, I'd swap for an M6 millennium (for the black paint and brass), and maybe a 35 cron. Ahhh, all I'd ever need, now to go find that BNIB millennium I just convinced myself I need...

Well after several occasions where I have brought camera and 20, 50, 85, 105mm lenses and found myself using only the 50mm I'd say why keep lugging that extra weight around. If I don't use it why bother bringing it 🙂

I'm am a bit more comfortable with the M6 while shooting. The R3A do have a better finder and the nice plus of auto exposure. But the thing thats really sets the M6TTL apart if that you can change the shutter speed with ease using just one finger without having your eye leave the finder, just having to follow the arrows of the lightmeter for direction is also very intuitive. My R3A is just to stiff to handle with ease which usually means I leave it at AE. Nothing wrong with that but lightmeters gets fooled easily.

And since they both to the same thing, and use the same lenses, I just use the camera that feels better. Even though the Bessa is lighter and have a better viewfinder.
