Pentax 67 Gas!

really enjoying myself with this camera lately, pictures to follow soon...

This is with the S-M-C Takumar 6X7 55mm f/3.5 mounted.

I also have found a good but cheap S-M-C Takumar 6X7 75mm f/4.5, and a S-M-C Takumar 6X7 200mm f/4.0 even came for less than EUR 100!

Knew it was just a matter of time. Wound up buying the 55mm! I appreciate the images you all have shared and the insight you offered when I was inquiring about it. I think it along with the 105mm will be just right for me. Now I just have to restock on some 120, I'm running low!

Congrats on the 55mm, look forward to seeing more of your images on the thread! Which version did you end up buying? I have the second S-M-C Takumar 55/3.5 version, one of the ones with the giant 100mm filter thread. I don't use it often, but I've posted some samples upthread.
 
I wasn't aware there were two versions of the 3.5/55mm... what's the difference? I have both the 4.0/55mm lenses.

I bought the late model f/4 version as I thought that would pair best with my 105mm!
 
I got my 6x7 a year ago now, purchased locally on Memorial Day. Here a frame from the first "test" roll, using the 200mm f/4. Haven't used it much since because of the long minimum focus, but it's a perfectly capable lens.

Pentax 6x7, S-M-C Takumar 6x7 200mm f/4, Kodak 400TX, developed in LegacyPro L110 at 1:31 for 6 minutes.

I shot a few rolls primarily with the 55 over the weekend and I definitely was enjoying working with it. However, it brought up an unexpected appreciation for being able to focus really close (given my proclivity for rangefinders I seem to live my life no closer than .7m). Granted, the 1m MFD of the 105mm is really not all that bad, but it did make me consider the 90mm and its closer focusing distance.

I wouldn't want to have both lenses, but if you were choosing between the 90 and 105mm what would be your preference?

I have both, but my 90mm is the older leaf shutter version with a 0.85m MFD. The two later 90mm versions have different optics, and 0.65m MFD. By contrast, the 200/4 in my last post has a MFD of 2.5m!

I prefer the 105, as I found the bokeh a bit smoother, probably a result of more aperture blades (9-blades vs. 5-blades). In certain backgrounds, the 90mm can exhibit a bit of swirl and nervous bokeh. The later 90mm versions might not exhibit the same, as they have 8-bladed apertures and different optics. This site has a great table on all the different 6x7 lens versions.

Mostly I prefer the 105 because of f/2.4. :D In any case, here are reviews of the 90mm Leaf Shutter and later 90mm that you might find helpful:

I would prefer the 105, which I currently am saving up for.

Shallow DOF is of more importance to me than close focus.
Also, if you want something with similar DOF in small format, it happens to be approx 52mm and f1.2, so the 105 basically is the 6x7 format Noctilux
