Phillipe is in.
I PM'ed him because we basically had a run on the reserved seating.
If anyone here is lurking know that about 5 minutes ago only two $1.00 priced reserved seats were left on the 6:50 NYC departure. The trip home is less booked.
Anyways I will start a list:
Jean-Marc
Phillipe
Gary
John
Jim

Randy

Did you take notice of how limited the Reserved Seating was. I say less than 20 seats. Well worth the $2.00 to make sure you get on the bus as long as you are not late.
Yeah, I think anyone who is going should probably book sooner rather than later.

John,
When I first signed up for my reserved seats only one seat was taken ($1.00 reserved).
How did the seats go so fast.
Anyways I'm glad that Phillipe did not get booked out.
UPDATE: Only one regular reserved seat left; one table seat ($1.00); two balcony reserved seats ($3.00); and 4 front window seats with panoramic view left ($5.00).

Tomorrow morning I'll reserve the private tour. The 10:30 a.m. slot time was available for us on May 22.
We can settle cost on sight, but with 7-8 persons, it should not be more than $22 each ($150 total), which includes the admission fee. Should be fun!
More details to follow.
Cheers,
Gary

Awesome, Cal.
We're booked!
Sunday, May 22, 10:30 am for private tour, ~ 1 hour duration. The fee of $150 will not change unless the group increases to 15 or more.
We'll be met at the entrance by our guide.
Some general photo policies will be emailed and I will pass them on as soon as Casey, the administrative person, sends me the info. I believe its all on the website.

Randy and all,
There is a $10 fee for tripod use. It's good for a year of return shooting.
For payment, I can wait until the meet up day and if others join, the per person amount will go down. With 9 of us, it's just under $16 each.

$16 -- that's about the same price as general admissions. Well done Gary, Thanks.

MSN on its home page offers a photo gallery of closed prisons, and one of them is ESP.
Kinda timely our upcoming shoot.

It seems that after that flurry of reservations that there are still a few reserved seats remaining.

Judging by recent images, it seems like they cleaned up the interior quite a bit. Possibly for insurance purposes.

Keith,
History tells us that ESP closed in 1971. There are photos of when it became feral with overgrowth like the original Highline where trees and a forest had returned.
I liked the old Highline before it was sanitized. I'm sure that things have progressed, and I'm hoping ESP has some vintage ruins left that is original.

Cal, ESP has been cleaned up, but it's definitely not the Highline! I remember ridding my bike up on the Highline in 70s and early 80s. ESP is popular as a tourist destination, a movie set, and of course, a piece of history. I've been to ESP quite a few times, mostly in the 1990s. It was then pretty much untouched by the powers that maintain it, only to make areas safe from falling debris. I can remember signing a waiver or two on a couple of visits. I'm sure there will be areas that are as they were. Al Capone's old cell is a little treat.
If I could, I would join you, but weekends are for family and a long bike ride or two. You all will have a great time.
