fantasy question!
consider this...
your current gear
how/what you prefer to photograph
if you could...where would you move to in order to facilitate your image making?

I would move to Hawai'i in a heartbeat if I could get the visa. The nature there is amazing, beautiful mountains, seascapes. Also great access to the rest of the Pacific. Ideally, I would like to photograph areas with no humans, and preferably no signs humans have even been there.

Nowhere.
The problem with my photography is with my talent. And that problem would just move with me.

Ah, I see.
Well, lets see. I don't care for heat or humidy so that cuts out a lot of the earth. I think I'd like the rocky northern coast of Maine. And the New England contryside offers a good mix of topography.
Yeah, that's it, right on the northern Atlantic coast.

Nice question!
Probably, for practicality, Arles.
Or maybe St. Petersburg (the real one, in Russia). Or Dharamsala and environs. Or pretty much anywhere in Greece. Or easiest of all for a staggering range of pictures, Malta, http://www.rogerandfrances.com/subscription/pst malta.html
Where would you choose?
Cheers,
R.

That's actually a difficult question to answer !
But I think I'd choose England, starting around the Mendip Hills area and I'd be driving around the country in a Triumph TR4A with my gear in the "boot"

They'm a bit strange round Mendip way, boy. (I lived in Bristol for over a decade).
Now that's a bit rich! I'm a Somerset "boy", and here we are being called "a bit strange"... by a Cornishman, of all people!!
The words pot, kettle, and black come to mind...

I would move out of my comfort zone.

Hmm, maybe Iceland or Norway - or New Zealand's south island for scenery - or Japan for a complete culture shock.
Not so sure about the Mendips though...

When I worked in Cornwall many years ago (very early 90s) I set off for a walk, but was advised against trusting anyone in the next valley as they were under suspicion of witchcraft. The local vicar looked like Christopher Lee's version of Dracula, so anything is possible
Back on topic, I've just thought of the Austrian Tyrol - beautiful scenery and Innsbruck ain't too shabby.

what?
Montepulciano, Italy would be my new home base. An apartment at the very top of the hill near the Piazza Grande.
Everything about my life would be better. I'd buy a Fiat and go on day trips making pictures.
What cameras? - the X100 and the LX3 (leave the D5100 and the Digilux-2 in storage back in the USA).
I'm already feeling good about this.

For street photography there is hardly anything better than NYC, so I'm pretty ok for the time being
