Pictures taken with Zeiss glass

Testing out the Zeiss 100mm f/2 Makro-Planar ZF.2 on the Lumix S5. These could probably be a little bit sharper but the focus peaking was showing the subjects' faces (specifically the eyes) in focus, whereas the true focus point ended up being about 2-3 inches closer, near their right forearms. It was also incredibly dark in the room, so ISO was cranked up and I wasn't able to use a fast enough shutter speed for the lens. I suspect it will perform much better outdoors or other situations with better lighting.

My father loved shooting with Exaktas and the Rollei QBM-mount 35mm bodies, so I'm blessed with having inherited some very nice Zeiss lenses in these mounts.

Summery accessories on sale at Target. Rollei Zeiss Planar 85mm f1.4, Canon 5D (Mk1/Classic)

A fellow tourist in Athens. Taken with the same 85/1.4 lens, this time with my Sony A7R4.

I have the ZE version (same lens but in Canon EOS mount). An excellent lens! I used in initially adapted to Sony (Sigma MC-11 adapter) and more recently to Leica SL (Urth AF adapter). Of course my variant, being in Canon mount requires an electronic adapter like these because it is necessary to control the aperture through the camera. I know the later tranche (the V2 models) of the ZF lenses also come equipped with electronic controls but unlike mine also has a manual aperture control ring.

This was one of the first shots I ever took with it. (On my way home from the camera store upon picking it up IIRC). The bokeh in the deep background looks a little "squirrely" but I have not noticed this tendency in other shots with it (see also the second shot which must have been taken a little later and exhibits bokeh that is everything most people might want. Zeiss glass has never failed to please me in terms of sharpness, contrast and color
