Just beautiful

These old motion picture lenses draw beautifully. Are the modifications to make them compatible with Leica M permanent? I ask because there are a few folks out there that have bought up a great number of the old cine lenses, butchered the mounts then set them into Leica M focusing helicals This is unfortunate for us who want to shoot old optics as they were intended, on motion picture cameras. It is almost impossible to find lens in Eyemo mount aside from the 25mm Eyemax which is a hyperfocal, non focusing lens. Almost everything else out there that hasn't been cut up costs the same amount as a modern PL mount lens which is not compatiblle with a clockwork Eyemo. It's frustrating. Gorgeous photos but how they came to be is really maddening for those of us who want to shoot them on motion picture cameras.

There are no more affordable cine lenses. They have almost all been bought up and modified. There is a seller on eBay who has a $50 optical block sitting in a $400-500 calibrated RF coupled helicoid selling for $1200. That lens was formerly a decent Cinema lens for shooting 35mm film but has been permanently butchered to play with on a Leica. Now there are plenty of adapters for use on mirrorless cameras without surgery. It's really frustrating.
Oh well, I have a dual range Summicron that I need to grind the focusing cam off of to make a permanent modification to a beautiful optic that I'm going to use only once in a while.
