Stunning B&W's John. Which lenses and how did you process. The sharpness and contrast looks like large format.

Thanks Steve. I used 2 lenses in this set (my only 2 M mount lenses) -- a ZM 28mm and ZM 50mm Sonnar. All processing was done in Lightroom and Photoshop. The only thing I do in Photoshop is desaturation, global exposure control, and local burning/dodging (using curve adjustment layers with a mask).
Out of interest, the 8th photo in the set (Summer Isles, Scotland III) is an infrared shot using a B+W 092 on the 28mm.

Thanks for the info. Are you using the default present in LR? If not, do you have a "homemade" preset? Also, do you remember the shutter speed on the IR shot...looks VERY sharp. Your shots really are a great advertisement for Zeiss glass!

With my 50 mm Summicron...

Steve, it was shot at 1/8 sec, ISO 160, and on a tripod. I was pleasantly surprised with the sharpness of this one. Most my other IR shots, even with the camera on a tripod, are not as sharp.newyorkone said:Thanks for the info. Are you using the default present in LR? If not, do you have a "homemade" preset? I use the default preset in LR with sharpening turned off. I then mess around with the settings on an image by image basis. This is for the images I want to take to black and white print, which isn't too many. Once I have a decent histogram, I export to PS and do the rest there.

Thanks again, John.
You inspired me and I went to B&H today and picked up a B&W 092 filter for my 35 summicron. This is going to be fun...
Hopefully I'll have something decent to share soon.

Good luck with the IR...it is fun! Looking forward to seeing your results and hearing your experience with this. I have mainly used the ZM 28 for IR and have found that I don't need to adjust focus as expected.

The Museum of Modern art has a current exhibition of the work of the popular sculptor Richard Serra. I happen not to like his work, but accompanied my father to MOMA the other day, and found a way, thanks to my M8 and 35 'lux, to make Serra's work more interesting!
