Post your foveon DP & SD1m Images

a bit of the purply fringe on the photo, is it more common with the SD1?

Differences in shading, I cannot spot some minor color blindness.. Could be bad processing on my part.. Jon has mention seeing this type of issue in the past w/ the dp series as well. Could be the tiff to jpg conversion that aperture did for web export. I can redo a default one from the raw file and post. U can tell me if u c the purple fringe.

Why poeple think or believ the merrills are slow cameras???

I found inredible how a few words from few people can determine the bulk of pictures made with this camera...

One of the things I have found is that auto white balance on these cameras (sd or dp) are not as good as my Nikon or Fuji cameras :(.

When I looked at the original harder I saw some areas where there were purple shading as well (just did not notice it). So what I tried was to change the white balance which was auto to something else. When I applied daylight, it turned out to cause the same issue. Next I tried shade since I had such a wide angle and took the shot where there was also a lot of shade around me. To my eye it looks better, but as I said I am slightly color blind..

Anyway the blue is not as deep, but no purple shading.

One thing I wish they could do in a firmware update is to give the option of having the lens stay in it's previous focusing position as you take your next photo ... my OMD had this and I think it's sensible.

I don't think the focusing is particularly slow it's just that the lens seems to want to go through it's complete range every time you take a pic.

+1

Agreed.

Plus I would love for them to remember where the last manual focus spot was when u switch from mf to af and later back to af.

I bought a DP3M to accompany my DP2M. I like the bokeh out of this lens and the already established amazing sharpness down to 100%

I was thinking about what you said before Gary about the images from the SD1M.

Maybe you could get a mod to alter the title of this thread slightly to accomodate the SD as well as the DP series?

Over thirteen and a half thousand views now!

Looks like a mod did it already. Joe? He has been hanging around.

Gary

I like the way Joe spends time in this thread ... it says a lot about where his priorities actually lie.

He often gets mistaken for a gear and bag junkie! :p
