This one is great Keith. Very sorry yours is kaput, but total failure is better for the return. Hope the replacement is a gem.

Your B&W images are stunning. I'm curious... were these straight our of the camera, using the "monochrome" setting? Or did you post-process them? If so, what software did you use? Thanks.

No.. I wanted strong colors.
Shot RAW only and then lots of manipulation in AP3.0. Increased saturation and vibrance and then worked on blown highlights and shadows. Every shot had blown highlights using matrix metering pre adjustment. That light was brutal.

Some shots I have captured over the past month. I love the stealthiness this camera affords. Silent mode is my favorite. I have missed shooting with a "rangefinderish" camera for a while. The high ISO capabilities have exceeded my expectations but the hit or miss focusing has been a greater let down in low light, even with the AF assist. Quirks aside, I have been loving to shoot with it. I hope the manual focus slow issue can be resolved.

The Olympic rain forests are intrinsically very difficult to ascertain any
kind of decent composition. The detail in the landscape is an overlaod
on the brain, and it becomes (for me) a true challenge of where the hell
to point the camera! Mad
I decided that instead of trying to simplify, an almost impossible task,
that I would just go ahead and compose directly onto the "jungle" and
let things fall where they may.
This terrain was very broad and flat, with an area of several square
kilometers, so I used compass bearings to keep in touch with where
the nearest trail was. That trail would take me back to my car.
Traveling North-Northeast
