scanning issue

im having an issue with my scanner. i have seen this on the last 3 rolls that i have processed but its never happened before. im using an epson 4490 with the stock negative holders. i cant figure out what could be causing that line in the middle but maybe you guys know. it doesnt happen on every frame but maybe 5 or 6 out of the whole roll.

Newton rings -- caused by the negative touching the glass platen on the scanner...

Your negs are most likely bowed in the middle -- flatten them out - rescan...

You can also flip the negative over so that the curl is the other direction, then invert again in photoshop.
