Show me a nice old car

This is the original Subaru Kei car from the 1960s. I believe it was sold briefly in the US as the Subaru 360 (as in 360 cc engine). It was our first exposure to the brand.

Back around the Spanish-American War Subaru broke into the American market with these cars, around the mid - late 70's. They bragged you could put 30 or 40 soccer balls into the luggage compartment and pitched that. The Subaru dealers, supposedly, had to sell a raft-load of 360's before they could get the four stroke cars. This is way back before Joe Subaru, of course. They were not much of a car, but that YouTube link is to a guy on Portland, OR, who loves them.

Well, you have me on the dates. But IIRC the dealers squawked about having to unload a bunch of 360's in order to get the four strokes. The 360's did not sell well alongside American Iron.

And, hey, it was Joe Isuzu, not Joe Subaru.
 
Low mileage and does not burn oil.

I will not have a bad word said about Hudsons. When I bought my Railton, which was a Hudson 8 in an expensive English suit, it had already done a quarter of a million miles on what appeared to be the original engine. For a £100 car in the late '60s it went really very well. Rose tinted glasses have blanked out the rate of consumption of vital fluids but safe to say that as student we had to club together to fill her up.
 
That's a very tidy Fiat 500. I have just spent an hour under its older relative, a 600, wrestling with brake lines that have been together for over 50 years...tempted to give up and go back to film photography!

Haven't seen a Renault Dauphine on the road in the States in many years. They were not suited for American driving distances IMO.

I owned one and liked it a lot. The trouble was when I bought it there were regular tires on it. It needed Michelin X radials to be its best.
 
Now that's a lovely red Lancia Delta Integrale ..?? ... I think that's the model. :D
