Here's a Canon and his Cousin, the Nicca 3S (Tower 43) and my original QL17. Nicca later became Yashica but was founded by Engineers from Canon.

The one thing I didn't like about the QL17, Richard, was that when it's put in Manual, the meter shuts off. So I gave mine away. If I had learned the Sunny-16 method before that, I'd probably still have it. It was a great looking camera, and produced really nice results.

Get another one Phil, they're dirt cheap on eBay right now. Plus you can always use the meter in auto then turn it to manual to compensate

Hi easiest way to determine a "J" thread camera is to try and fit a Leica m39 lens to the SK S-II body. If it doesn't fit then it is a J thread camera body. There should be no MIOJ marking on the baseplate.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to mount a 1960's era Canon 135mm easily to the body. So I think it is safe to say the body is an m39 mount. There is no marking of MIOJ on the base plate.
Another person is interest in knowing if the Nikkor has the J mount thread. It doesn't mount nearly as easy as the 135 did. I'll have to swing by the Nikon RF guys and see if they have any insight.

Canon 7 at home and at work.

At home: 7 with early Novoflex (Muller) mirror box and Xenar 135/4.5 with focusing mount. Found the Novoflex mirror box on Craigslist, came with a Novoflex LTM bellows as well as the lens. Without the bellows the setup will focus to infinity.

At work: 7 with 50/1.2 and eBay hood waiting for a wedding to begin. Lot more secure than the factory hood although doesn't look as nice. Arista Premium 400 loaded up in this pict.
