Thank you both. Mr. Scherpenborg in Nijmegen overhauled it c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y, the poor thing was soaked with oil.
It has no red curtains, no ball-bearings and no military markings, but it works like new and I am very happy. I've been looking for one for years.

In Holland in the winter from 1944 and 1945 Leicas were easily given for a bar of chocolate ...
