Struck gold in a Barnack mine over the weekend

Been working on looking at an extensive camera collection for awhile and my efforts came to fruition over the weekend, as I purchased the following Barnack goodies: Leica IIIG with black scale 50mm f2.8 Elmar, Leica IIIF self timer black dial, Leica IIIA body, Leica 28mm f6.3 lens, 2@ Leica 35mm f3.5 Summaron lens, Leica 5cm f1.5 Summarit with Leica adapter, Leica 9cm f4 chrome/black lens with Leica adapter, numerous chrome finish lens caps (M and Barnack styles), three leather Leica carry cases, and a Nikon 3.5cm chrome viewfinder. Pictures soon, I hope. Camera bodies look terrific but all bodies have sticky slow shutter speeds, as expected. Trying to decide which camera bodies deserve full CLA and which will just have shutter speeds adjusted.

Also: Boxed mint Leica M3 DS and two black Nikon F Photomic bodies (one with non-Ai 45mm f2.8 GN Nikkor lens).

🙄 Oh, forgot to add a Fikus hood and the cut away hood for the Summar lens (which was in bad shape so just have the shade). Lots of ways to go here: may sell off /trade some items in order to get rare shades for the 28 Hektor and Summarit lenses.

My 1934 Leica II with a 1936 50mm f2 Summar -- I got it off a Clergyman with a IIIa + 50mm f3.5 coated Elmar which was stolen in a 'drive-by' theft as the bloke leaned out a c ar and snatched up my camera bag off the ground by my feet - that was in Thorpe Park, Surrey, England abut 16 years ago.
 
Erik - well I never knew it was 'rare' and a 'collector's Item ' - i just load it with outdated film every so often and take it out for a 'spin ' !! It's Number is : 108216 and the lens is : 323089
 
Finally I got my first Leica. I've wanted a Barnack for quite a while. I missed one last year in my local camera store as I was on vacation so snapped this one up a couple of weeks ago. Finally got round to taking a few shots of it.

Just got back a roll of slides taken with my IIIa syn in order to check shutter accuracy.

Hi there,
My first post to show off my first ever Leica.
For the sake of domestic harmony I was unable to contemplate a true Leica lens for now and have opted for an Industar 22.
Have just shot and developed my first roll and everything seems to be working as it should. The camera and lens appear to be bonding beautifully
Unfortunately in the past someone has rather unsympathetically mounted a flash terminal(?) to the top plate and then scratched an X next to one side to keep track of the correct coupling. I expect to remove this and insert small screws as a best fix.
This is an incredibly easy camera to use and the few prints I have made suggest the Industar is not a bad lens at all.
This is a great forum with invaluable information for a beginner like me so many thanks to all contributors. Happy shooting.

Baybers, Welcome to the forum. That's a good looking Leica and the Industar 22 can be a fine lens. I have one that seems as good as my 50mm Elmar. The Industar is about 1 millimeter longer than the Elmar and a different optical formula but can be very good. Enjoy. Joe
