Here are the first few from my Leitz 50mm nickel Elmar. I really like the lower contrast look, although close examination of the scans, especially the vertical shot below, makes it look like it might be out of collimation. The left side is slightly more out of focus than the right in areas that are in the same plane. I'm going to have to test it a little more before sending it to someone to get it adjusted.
Both shots on Tri-X pushed to 1600 and developed in D76 1:1.

Maclaine, it's easy to have the focusing threads on a 50/3.5 Elmar get worn down such that there's some slop, and the lens can get a little sideways. It still focuses reasonably accurately, but things will be a little asymmetric focus wise.

Thanks for the tip, John. What I'm thinking now is that the lens might have been slightly out of alignment due to not being locked in place. The focusing is a little stiff and the lens came unlocked a couple times while I was shooting with it. I had hoped it wouldn't affect the photos, since it didn't seem to collapse at all, but it might have done so just enough to cause the blur in the vertical shot of the trees.

I feel that if one wants to get the most out of uncoated lenses, they should be shooting color. The somewhat softer colors and the tendency for the photo to take on a cast of the predominant hue are qualities to be appreciated.
