35mm hmmm... I must say the ultron 1.7
But then that is the only 35mm VC lens I've seen.
I like it better than the Contax 35mm F2 on my G2.

I had both the ultron and P II for sale at reasonable prices so I assume they are both out of your price range since they were purchased by other buyers. That leaves the 35 classic, Nokton and P I. The P I is pretty hard to find and the Nokton is $1000+ so that leaves the classic. A no brainer decision here if you're restricting yourself to CV. It's a nice little lens, there is one for sale in the classifieds for US$175.

I suggest the Color Skopar 35mm/2.5 C. You cannot be wrong with that choice. Too bad I sold mine while ago. If you do not mind to spend a bit more, the PII is a solid performer!

I got the chance to fondle Terence's R2A and 35/1.2 yesterday.

Really nice, build and finish seems better than the R2, L or T. It's VC new generation of products definitely. If you compare the quality to a FM3A, it seems more value for money than that. A "keeper" kind of camera.

Nice little camera to have....don't touch it if you can't resist the temptation!

I've got a couple of brand new Leica neoprene straps to unload. IMO, they are the best camera straps ever made. Soft, comfortable, yet firm and will not bounce on your shoulder even with a heavier load. $75. CP sells em for $90, perhaps more with the impending price increase on all Leica products.

Just got my CV 21/4.

Very nice and compact, the silver finish was also good. Focussing and aperture seems smoother than my other lenses. Chose a 50/75 mount as I think I'll pair this lens with a 50.

Had a 19-35 for my SLR once, don't like it and hardly used it. This 21/4 on a rangefinder is, for me, so much easier to understand perspective and relationship between lenses. However, still another steep learning curve for a new lens.

Was shooting at home yesterday night at 1/15 and 1/8 for fun. Wished it was a 2.8 but then I have to resist another GAS attack!

BTW, how do I know if I had tightened the screw mount correctly?

Hi Chua,

As regards to the LTM adapter, try to screw it in with the plastic cap to prevent being cut by the sharp edges. Just do not over tighten it with excessive force.

The LTM lenses often don't line up exactly. The centre dot may be a little to the left or right. This however has little impact on it's function. (has lots of impact on our peace of mind...why not in line why...arrgh..)

but it really makes sense if you think about it, the distance from the film will only be altered by microns of you over or under screw it. However, the damage to the lens mount from over tightening is probably more damaging. So I'd say that you should err on the side of under tightening it but of course not to the extent that it falls out lah.

How true! But I ignored it after a while. My sample also focus past infinity a little, or maybe my RF is out......gear paranoia setting in again.
