street photography...post an image that says 'street' to you!

I supported other thread with comment what we have street photography mentor with street photography sub-forum. We used to ask and post where...
But it looks like the new trend among active mentors with this thread now. 🙂

To me street photography at its best is with moment which tells something. Like above or like here:

That above is not what I consider my "best foot forward", this is just what everybody shoots on street and so do I.

What I am really proud of are images like this:

But that's not "street", even though happen to be outside.

Fantastic!

KoFe, you must be the most astute and funniest guy on this forum. And your pic is charming too.

Here are two more. For me, there is the voyeur aspect of Steet Photography (for sure a crude term/concept) and that where one engages subjects encountered hanging on the streets.

Sydney street.
Edit: this image explains street as being up close and catching moments of recognition and eye contact with strangers - a fleeting glimpse into the lives of others

Edit: this image explains street as capturing humour, and the connection between photographer and subject. Elliott Erwitt is one of my favourite photographers.

not in the street, but it still says street to me.

Edit: does street photography have to be on the street to be called that? I think of it more as a generic term for "in a public place". Here a cafe, but it could equally have been in a park. The term "photography in public places" is cumbersome and I can think of no other expression apart from street to describe it, so I see "street photography" as a generic term rather than something to be taken 100% literally. Street pictures also often tell stories, which is why I like this photo.
