I know the Summarit filters are slip-on but since this lens had inside threads does anybody know what size screw-in filters will fit?

both types

both types

Summarit filters are made in 41mm screw in, as well as the slip on. I just bought a screw-in one from DAG who did a CLA on my Summarit. He has other ones still available in both types, 41mm screw in, and Summarit snap-on in various colors, and an "A" type, of which no one really remembers what it was for.

The tricky part about a complete Summarit kit is finding a hood like the original XOONS, the OD I think is 43mm, but the trick is to not block the vr/rf, the XOONS has a unique cutout which I don't think anyone has replicated yet.

I have a Summarit that has some very light hazing. What would DAG charge for a CLA on this lens?
I'll have to take a look at his filter selection.

I have the XOONS hood on the way from KEH. It is supposed to be delivered today.

Hi Colyn

Hi Colyn

Not sure if Don wants his prices posted, but he will quote you over the phone or by email very promptly:

http://www.dagcamera.com/

He also promtply emailed photos of his Summarit filters, both screw in 41mm, and slip-on.

His filter prices are at or below the auction sites, and he has only one of each, so they may be a very good deal if you want the original Leitz ones, and he has the type/color you will be using.

Unfortuantely he doesn't have any used XOONS ;)

I just purchased a battery chamber and cap from him today for my Leicaflex SL.
I'll have to check out his filters.
I've done business with Don several times and can say he is a good person to deal with.

Over the years his charges have run 50 to 75 dollars. I think it may depend upon how complicated the lens is and maybe if you ship more than one. E mail him.

Don`t waste time shooting pic. Haze destroys the image and that is how old lenses got such bad reputations. Take it back, shoot a sample, get it cleaned, then repeat shot. It will be an education.

I've got an extra yellow -- $30 paypal and it'll get mailed asap -- webmaster@infogoblin.com

I just looked -- I've got 2 yellows, one in a leather case...

2 uv filters (one screw, one slip on) and I've also got the A filter which is used to warm light and enhance tones -- nice for portraiture...

$30 / a piece -- or if buying bulk, can cut you a deal -- no shipping on any purchase

PM sent...

It is sometimes possible to find Summarit filters. (I have a couple or originals) But not often. A few years ago I found a set of yellow, orange and red ziess filters in 40mm. As it happens they worked OK when cinched up tight although loose as hell until that point is reached - bear it in mind, you may find some like that work at a pinch.
