Well I'm dumping a 28/1.9 because of the Summicron.
I wasn't all that impressed with the sharpness of the 28,
and with no framelines in my M2, I just wasn't feeling it.

Never really worked too much with the 28 ultron, but I hear that it's quite sharp. If it's sharpness you're wanting, perhaps you're seeking something like the ASPH then? My conclusion on the pre-asph was that it's advantage is the signature of the lens more than the resolution. It's unfortunate that the asph is so expensive. I had great results with the Biogon, better than with the ultron or summicron pre asph, but again, I think these tastes are entirely subjective.

I not much for sharpness, I shoot wide open at 1/30 half the time.
Even though, I do have a very sharp collection of lenses, I don't sit
down and bump my shutter to 1/1000 @ f8 to get maximum clarity.
-
I got a good deal, and I'm going to shoot nonetheless.
(I just need some lens hoods, a 12585 and a 12545 or just two 12585's
spread to word, I don't care if they are busted up pretty bad, I need them)

got a V4 35/2, Current 90/2.8, and a 50/2 DR.

Now I just need to upgrade from the frankenstein of
a body to something a little more mondern.
-
Anyone got an M4 that isn't overpriced?
I think you got a pretty nice kit now ! The frankenstein was good but I can understand what you mean. Just got myself a nice M4 and can highly recommend it. Have an M3 DS in the mail coming ...
cheers,

I want an M4 real bad, nothing really to gain with one,
it has the addition of a frameline I'm not going to use
and an angled rewind crank, but thats about it, and yet
I still want one. Maybe I just need to be happy shooting
an amazing kit of lenses. I'm just worried of smashing
everything, hence my need for all ready beat up lens hoods.

Come on people, I need 12585's!

Don't bother with the OEM Leica hood, get a generic metal vented hood off of ebay for a fraction of the price.

I know, I know, but I hate screw in shades, because I'm rough on my stuff
and don't much feel like stripping the threads of my stuff. So snap on wins.

That's a deal for a V4. Congrats. I wanted one but the online prices were through the roof.

Get a filter
Get a filter
Buy a B+W MRC UV filter and screw a generic hood into that filter. If you trash anything you'll trash the filter. Pactice not being rough on your stuff.
Enjoy your deal! By the way, don't tell the shop where you bought it. They didn't do their homework so maybe you'll find another deal there someday.

Oh don't worry about that, a month or two earlier they were
trying to pawn off some hasselblad kits for $700. Take into
consideration these had the CFT* lenses and A12 backs which
hold a premium right now.

And why is it so hard to find a lens hood?

Any of these still available?

Probably, they don't seem to intreseted in the used camera market
anymore, so I think most of the used stuff is a good deal.

Hoods are easy
Hoods are easy
As I said earlier, a 39mm B+W MRC filter won't be cheap. So that satisfies your urge to spend money. It's money well spent by the way. Then buy the threaded Leica knock off ventilated hood from Heavystar on eBay. Good hood and cheap. The combination works perfectly on my 5.0 cm Nikkor.
OR, you can do as I foolishly did and pay $40 for a Leica 12585 H hood that looks like it spent the last 2 or 3 years in Bagdad. It works perfectly on my 50mm DR Summicron. I could have spent the savings on film.
You pays your money and takes your choice. YMMV.

Well if you ever feel foolish enought to sell it, I'm waiting.

Never will I find a 12585, 12504, or IROOA (Or a square 35/2 ASP at that). Never!
Why is this? Why no used lens hoods in the market?
