I went to support some friends at the OSIM Triathlon event. The Nikonos camera jammed and 2 frames got juxtaposed creating an interesting image. http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/ray-toei.html?tab=artwork raytoei

We're all light!
Raid: Hey, that is traveling light, photographically speaking. I ran around with a Minox GT eons ago, and had fun with it. Looking forward to seeing some of your snaps with it. (Also hoped the trip itself was enjoyable.)
Ray: That is an interesting "accidental" d-e. The best ones usually are!

I took my kids to the Fair, and I tried to capture some scenes with moving objects in the foreground and static objects in the background. The Bessa R with the CZJ 5cm 1.5 felt good in my hands.
What are you up to this weekend?
I hope that some of you will pick up a camera ...

Doing a test shot on Sunday with my recently purchased Fuji GS645W also need to get some pics shot of my M4-2, 50mm 1.5 and 35mm 2.5 so that I can put them up for sell/trade.

I think my Sunday will be spent testing new cameras. I had a very lucky day.
Just tonight a very good friend of mine gave me his cameras that he has not used in 30+ years, I didn't even know he owned them!
I am now the proud owner of a Ricoh 500 RF with 40mm f2.8 lens, and a Ricoh KR-5 SLR with 55mm f2.2 lens. Both are externally 90-95% perfect; internally pristine.

already shot a couple of early morning scenes on black creek. as long as i've been here, there is always something new about the light or a different angle. one big chore is done. next up is a scooter ride, maybe to trade days at a big state park. it's another gorgeous day ...

Have a roll of Plus-X 125 to develop. Other chores to do. Finish a roll of Fuji Reala 100 in the Bessa R to compare with a roll of Ektar 100 I recently shot. Oh! & find a new place to get my film processed locally because my Wal-Mart will be going totally digital on the 22nd of April.

I "witnessed" this meeting!
Dana is standing beside me here, while we read Paul's posting.
It was Dana's 7th birthday yesterday, and she will not drink sodas or coffee or tea, God forbid.

I took a few shots with the Hexar RF and the 35 Summilux to finish off the roll this morning. I also took a few shots of the girls watching Sponge Bob Square Pants with the Yahsica Electro.

I squeeze my photography into bits of time here and there so weekends aren't usually anything special, but last weekend my wife had a gang of women folk over for the entire 2 days. I escaped to Vancouver BC, the nearest large city, for a weekend of photography. Vancouver has changed immensely over the past 10 years and continues to do so. I have an interest in old industrial areas and Vancouver is gradually loosing theirs to the relentless march of gentrification. In the early 80's, during my first photographic career, I spent a bit of time taking pictures in an old warehouse district which has now been completely turned into high end condominum's, expensive lofts and equally expensive restaurants. I've always been glad I got the shots I did but I wish I took a lot more.
So I spent two gratifying days taking street shots. Went through 3 rolls of FP4 between my Canon GIII and Minolta SLR (28mm and 135mm). They joined 4 rolls of already undeveloped film so I am definitely going to have to make some time for the darkroom.

I'm waiting for the ashes to fall from the sky!
Actually, we've had unbelievably clear skies the last couple of days. I've been waiting to see if the volcano eruption in Iceland creates strange and interesting sunsets, but so far nothing. I have some colour film ready in case something happens...
