I have searched high and low but haven't found out what a Leica IIIf weighs (without lens.)
Does anyone have that information? It can be in grams or onces. I need an accurate weight.
I am thinking of adding a IIIf to my Bessa R and L collection for travel.

From Focal Press' Leica Guide: 15½ ounces.

Thank you!
My Bessa R weighs 14 onces so as a trade out I get a quieter camera for a penalty of 1 1/2 onces and no meter. The IIIf is also smaller I believe.
I am assuming that reliability would be similar.

Are the airlines getting that picky?

The carry-on weight on the plane is not the issue. When traveling far away from home the weight of your camera arsenal can be very important.
On my bi-annual trips to Eastern Europe I will frequently have to carry my Domke 803 shoulder bag with cameras, water, lunch, unbrella etc for up to 12 hours at a time. From experience, every ounce counts then!
