Met with a fellow RFF member (Riccis) at a local Starbucks to talk photography and gear over coffee. I brought an M3 and he a Rolleiflex. An older man is sitting near us admiring our gear. I asks if there is still film out there for our cameras. OK we have been down this route before. Then he tells he owns an M2, a Rolleiflex. a Pentax 645, 3 Rollei 35S's and about 12 old Nikons. We spent an hour with him exchanging gear heaven stories, etc. How nice.

Akiva, sounds like you survived the dentist. yes, photog fans are all around us in surprising places. I just sold a 1950s Summarit to a gent not only 45 minutes away, but in a small town reputed as a farming community, migrant farm workers, and gang violence. I love it when stereotypes are proved wrong.

did you give him a roll and ask for his contact info ? in case he ever decides to part with the M2, or Rolleiflex, or Nikons, or... 😉

A nice story indeed! I'd love to think he went straight home, stopping only to pick up some film, dusted off his kit and, finding it working perfectly, went out to shoot some film.
