What are you listening to at the moment?

I'm a lawyer and at work right now listening to my usual mix of 60s–70s psychedelic classic rock (Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Doors, etc.).

I write some groovy legal briefs.

Fully agree. Which is why I prefer to listen to 'elevator music' in the darkroom....Brian Eno, Peter Pearson, Jonn Serrie...etc...

Ahhh, I love early-mid Brian Eno, John Serrie's space music. I haven't heard Peter Pearson, though.

You might like this mix of ambient and elevator type music:
  • Biosphere, particularly Substrata
  • Steve Roach
  • Tangerine Dream
  • Ray Lynch, particularly Deep Breakfast
  • Sanford Ponder, Tigers Are Brave
  • The Durutti Column
  • Jon Goin - Waltz At Big Sky (80s elevator music)
If you go to bandcamp.com and look for ambient music, you'll find a huge number of independent artists who make some great music. At the moment I'm enjoying dark ambient music from the bandcamp label Cryo Chamber.

Bauhaus - The Sky's gone out

Just got tickets to see them in Chicago this summer so getting a bit pumped up

Tchaikovsky Symphony # 6, performed by the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra of S. Korea. The conductor, Chung Myung-Whun, has this symphony nailed. I feel he understands what Tchaikovsky meant, like no other. It's on Youtube.

Joscho Stephan, "Swinging Strings".....hot off the express mail from Germany

Mike Oldfield's music: 1973's Tubular Bells.
First time I heard this was in 1973 and I was 13. And it was astonishingly good then.
Still is astonishing in 2020. I do now have the benefit of owning the house and the speakers so it just might be playing a "little" louder than I could play the record back when it was released.
:D
