What brand of DSLR do you use?

I use a Sigma SD15 DSLR, the results are some of the best I've seen, really sharp, but the thing weighs way too much and it's huge, that's the only real downside, that and the OOC JPEGS are awful, unusable, but I don't mind shooting RAW all the time, so it's not a biggie.
Due to the size, I don't carry it around with me, and thus it doesn't get a lot of use, which is a shame, as it's a really nice camera.

Hmmm... a smaller-than 645 mm digital body for 30 grand

or

A larger sensor/film 645 film body with 3 lenses, a nikon coolscan 9000 and a trip around the world, and a new car for when I return from traveling.

Canon 7D- I use canon because when I originally got a DSLR, the 300D was the only affordable one. I now have a 7D as it has the best focussing and is the most affordable for the wildlife photography that is the other part of this hobby for me.
 
Neither. When the time comes to invest in more digital equipment, I will not go the DSLR way. I like it more compact, more sort of a digital back then a full blown FF DSLR body.
Will have a look at the Ricoh GXR (with M module too) or Sony NEX offerings (NEX-7?). Bored of the DLSR stuff I once used one summer (Canon, Sony)...
 
Nikon D3x.
The route to here was F2, F5, D70, D2x and D3.
Btw: Nikon has finally come up with a 50mm lens that is sharp fully open.
The AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G. Got one last week.
 
Nikon D700 for work, but I've used a Canon 5D before as a second body for shooting a concert... great images, just couldn't get comfortable with the ergonomics and the fact that everything is in a menu. Still got the images I wanted though.

I tend to agree with you. Try a Sony a850, if you can get hold of one. You may actually find some film SLR DNA. You can still chance then the name on the prism to a classic camera brand name 😀

As a canon user I'm envious of the 50 1.8G... The canon 50mm f1.4 is a frustrating experience - soft and hazy wide open and rubbish half-USM focussing.

I've resorted to the Sigma 50mm which is actually very nice, but I really hope Canon follow Nikons lead and bring out a new/updated set of 50's with better optics and focusing.
 
Nikon D300 and D700. The D300 gets used a lot more, but the image quality of the D700 is out of this world. The D300 succeeded a D70 which I gave away to a friend who has a lot of fun with it - a far preferable fate to gathering dust on a shelf!

Other MF lenses can be adapted. But it might be a good idea to be discreet and silently enjoy the thought you're shooting with a Leica S2, and just enjoy the output, as you'd likely get some odd reactions mentioning it to those who know what it is... 🙁
 
As I hsve already posted I currently shoot a D200 which I really have no reason to trade except the later cameras have much better dynamic range. I think my next aquisition will be a D300 or a D700 although th elatter means that some of my lenses will need to go too as they are for DX cameras. But still. ALthough I love shooting Leica I find that DSLRs are untouchable in some situations and a serious shooter will consider having both.
