Socks.
I was hoping for an M10.
But, socks.
Hi,
That's AI at work; I know because whenever I buy something photographic on eBay they suggest a pair of socks or two in their next nag...
Regards, David
PS And I bought a large (11 or 12 pounds) fat goose and we had a family and friends get together.

I have a real addiction for books therefore I ask Santa to bring me " Come again" by Robert Frank published by Steidl.
I received it plus as gift from Steidl "Once there were Polaroids", great surprise! Thanks Steidl!

and this is a photo taken by my wife who knows about my addiction for books and ask Santa to bring me two books: one is "The early years" by Annie Leibowitz. I'm a great fun of her work. A few images are already in the other books I have by her but I like here the layout.
The other book I received is by David Hockney and Martin Gayford and is a book designed for children ...but so nice and well made that the small child inside me really desired it
And a good friend of mine didn't forget about my passion for photography, art and rock music!

A nice Minoltina-P. It arrived with a grease-fouled iris, but I was able to tidy it up as a one-evening project. Meter works and appears fairly accurate.

Snot a lot photography wise, mostly cocktail stuff bar a Zorki case thats not for a Zorki I own (My 1C fits in it fine though so may use it for that once I've treated it to stop strap snapping), I got an Amazon voucher and some money so I used that to order a 20 pack of Kodak Colour.

Oh, Santa brought us just today a not so welcome gift —— a burning christmas tree, half of the piano room is in ashes now ...
Fortunately, no persons or animals were harmed, thus I wholeheartedly say «Thank You!» to Santa.

Nothing photographic, but I did get a Wonder Woman Flying UFO Ball, a flying, drone-like toy that terrifies our hounds. And me, to be honest! Happy holidays to all!

Thank you. Yes, any unplanned fire is really ghastly, but fortunately our instincts did work! My children, my wife and my mother-in-law were very quick, so were our cats, and I was also very quick with two fire extinguishers, that came *automatically* to my mind —— if you would have asked me «Do you have fire extinguishers in your house?» at another point of time, I would have said «I don't know». A really scary and weird experience.

I had an uncle who nearly had the same experiance, used real candles with vintage paper decorations and his tree nearly went up.
Glad to hear you and your familiy are safe.

Look what arrived this afternoon. After five minutes in fading sunlight outside, I can see this bigger Cinephor fits the bill. On the Makiflex it will focus out to about twelve or bit further feet feet out, so incredibly useful to me. The shorter Cinephor works only for extreme close ups on the Makis (about 18"x18" or so). The bokeh is gorgeous, the DOF thin as a sheet of paper. Absolutely love the "look" of it!
These are lenses for theatrical projection of 70mm and 35mm motion pictures. The bigger lens is a 159mm F2 Bausch & Lomb Super Cinephor

Ugh. Sorry to hear about the fire: I'm glad that no one was harmed.
I hope your place is cleaned up and back to normal quickly. Look forward to a better year next year.

Sant (me) bought me these. Nothing very expensive but if "she who must be obeyed" finds out I will be on santa's naughty list for next year.

I like that Canon FL nifty fifty.
I just asked for a pair of np400 batteries with charger. Fit my Minolta 5d and my Sigma sd14.
In other Christmas news, I was promoted to 3rd Dan black belt. Most thankful to have been entrusted with it.

Thank you I really like Canon 50s. Congratulations on your elevation . In which discipline is your black belt? I practice iaido. We don't have black belt status in that sport as such, but in 3 months I will be undergoing grading for Sandan level (3rd level) Sensai. (Still a "baby" Sensai though)
To supplement this and my photography, I spend some of my leisure time restoring and repairing swords (rewrapping tsuka sword hilts, fixing saya (scabbards which alway get worn and often split in training accidents etc). And building them from scratch (not really wholly from scratch though as I do not make the blades.

I'm 3rd Dan sensei (Also baby) in Isshinryu karate. Iaido is amazing. I work with traditional Okinawan weapons, but not sword. Mostly bo, sai, tuifa (tonfa), but also others.
Very cool that you rebuild swords. I work on vacuum tube amplifiers, but just as a hobby.

As a retired firefighter, I have seen my fair share of xmas tree fires. Stuff like that during the holidays were tough to witness.
I once got a small "thank you" for saving the family dog after a xmas tree fire -- It started with kids, matches, and a dry xmas tree. The kids were smart enough to call 911 right away. I was off duty (but we're never really off duty) and the call came over my radio while relaxing at home. The address was just 3 houses down the street. Ugh! I can't ignore THAT. I had my turnouts so I just ran down the street to the house, grabbed the garden hose in the front yard and dove in. Easy fire to extinguish. Barely involved the ceiling in the living room. Its always easy if you get to it in time. After the flames were down, the smoke is intense. I heard wimpering and went to check behind the console stereo. Little Jack Russell terrier clearly terrified (and a little wet). Scooped it up and went out to the front yard -- my engine had arrived by then and took over the incident. Two little boys ran over and claimed the dog. I went home.
Sorry to hear about the injury to an innocent piano. My wife would be in tears just hearing about this. But, good job remembering where the extinguishers were located!!! Today, I would probably just stand there and forget

I forgot to say Santa brought me a real camera bag. I am now the owner of a Domke 5XB. Those who know me will know that I have been using thrift store finds all my life. This is my first brand new bag and my first name brand bag. Maybe not the "best", but pretty cool. I'm already seeing ways to customize it to be my own special bag.
Happy Holidays all!
