A Kindle Paperwhite ....![]()
Bold move of an electronics manufacturer to name a gadget "Paperwhite"
It just sounds too similar to a thing you don't want it to become too fast after shelling out money for it.

This post is a week or two late, but I just got myself an RX100.
It's everything I hoped it would be.

Today at the thrift store I found an Olympus Infinity Stylus for 2 dollars with film in it. I was hoping it was b&w film so I could develop it and have some fun with found film but it was color c41 which I dont do yet.
It wasnt on my GAS list but I guess thats why they call it GAS. How could I refuse this little guy. I had to save him.
The camera itself appears to be in perfect working condition. I put a battery in it, put the film back in and started shooting some samples. I think the film is from 1998 so Im not expecting much. Its a pretty sweet little camera with good reports on it. They should have called it the Olympus Stealth. Its small and black and flash can be disabled easily. I think the red dot focus beam might give you away though. Ok scratch that stealth is not a good name.
$2 such a deal. Better than any ebay deal. Crap is expensive on there now and mostly its all junk with sellers dont ask dont tell descriptions. And when you do ask a question they act annoyed.
Now if only I could find some nice manual rangefinders at the thrift shop.
There were some other Olympus point and shoots too but I passed. I may go back tomorrow and get them. i think there was an epic in there. Didnt realize how popular they were. Anyway Im loving this little guy.
Also there was about 12 rolls of film from the same load. If this film turns out ok I think Ill go back and get the films for 25 cents a roll.

New Sinar Norma with New 105mm Xenar.
New Sinar Norma with New 105mm Xenar.
Hi Zsas,
Well, Thanks!
Here is my new $45 Schneider 105mm F4.5 barrel Xenar lens, I've mounted it onto a Sinar Norma lensboard, as it won't quite do anything but a closeup on my Makiflexes. But it easily works on my Sinar Normas, so there it is. Illuminates 4x5 fully at infinity on the Norma, the sweet spot is 6x9 cm, as the original Schneider literature specifies.
The early Norma frontend is also an XMAS present to myself. I know it is early, because it does not have a locking knob on the focusing lever. Bought it from a store in Denmark for $105. Would you believe they had -five- Norma front-ends to sell?? This particular Norma cleaned-up beautifully with some electronic contact cleaner and scrubbing with an old toothbrush. And some fresh Moly grease in the appropriate spots. Just like new. The Leica M-2 of large format.

Mint M6
Mint M6
Came very close to getting an ME but could not justify the cost for the amount of shooting I do. I also looked at a D600 but did not like the size. I wanted another M body to go with my 1957 M2. Got a mint M6 (which I owned when they were current Leicas). It is black and looks great next to my chrome M2. I had forgotten how nice and convient it is to have a built in meter.
