I needed to replace my ancient khaki Billingham 445, for the days when I'm not on my bike and need a walkabout bag. Had a pleasant half-hour at Red Dot Cameras fondling all the Billinghams - while doing my damnedest to avoid glancing at their display cabinets - and came out with... a new khaki 445.

Guess I am a creature of habit after all.

Jupiter 12 and matching 35mm viewfinder which fits and works very nicely on my 1957 Canon L2. I don't need to use the separate viewfinder on the Canon because it has the rotating turret to give a built-in 35 viewfinder.

That's a plus 1 on that... I bought one after I got the D750 body after hearing all the excellent comments about it and finding it on sale for $190. It lives up to the reports. I've used it on both the F6 and the D750.

Something drew me to the antique store in Salem the other day, and there was a Minolta MD 24/2.8 with the hood and both caps. I'd have had to pay three times the price on eBay, plus shipping.

I also scored a six-pack of GE 50B flashbulbs for $6.

Yesterday at our local antique fair I purchased a Zeiss Ikon case that was made to hold two pro tessar lenses for the Contaflex for $8, and a Kodak Retina IIIS for $15. The Retina"s body covering is crap due to body corrosion and the meter is dead but the shutter is working at all speeds, rangefinder is clear and the strings are intact. I'm going to recover it in something other than black. Looking at my wife's purse collection now for inspiration, She's starting to get that worried look.

The serial number indicates that it dates from November 1962 (when I was born!), and I purchased it from the original owner. The camera isn't mint, but not far off, and has a few minor marks on the top plate from previous use of a Leicameter.

Hopefully the M2 and I will get on better, and early indications are good. I love the well made, mechanical feel of the camera, and the solid film advance lever feels much nicer.[/FONT]
