What have you just BOUGHT?

A Gevaert Gevabox and case with manual. I was in the middle of scanning the manual and it seems i have somehow broken my scanner.

I've been wanting to add something a bit longer than 50 to my kit for a while

... so I'm going for a Sony a7ii (and I'll still be able to use my Leica lenses) 😀

Just keep in mind that the sensor cover glass is thicker on Sony cams, so if you have any rangefinder lenses wider than 50, there will be some ugly smearing at the very corners of the images, especially at wider apertures.
I learned this only after getting A7ii

There are a couple of ways to get around the problem, kolari mod (expensive) and a front end filter solution (not tested on many lenses, so might be a hit or miss)

Otherwise it's a fantastic camera, I just love that it can take any old lens with an adapter. Focusing is a breeze on still subjects with focus magnification. It can even autofocus mf lenses if you decide to get a techart pro adapter, i'm still undecided if I need one.

This weekend I found an Olympus Centurion APS SLR super-zoom for $5. I put new batteries in it (which probably are worth more than what I paid for the camera) and it seems to work just fine. I cleaned dust off of it, and programmed the date and time. It's like a tiny version of the big iS-1 I bought a couple of month ago and have been enjoying perhaps too much. Both of these cameras will probably be little more than curiosities in 20-30 years, assuming I can find APS film by then, and assuming anyone still runs the expensive minilabs for developing APS film.

Just got a Zeiss Ikon Taxona. Square format 35mm. Gave it a clean up but it's still got the terrifyingly stiff film advance lever threatening to rip the film at any moment. I'm not sure there exists a copy that doesn't have a stiff wind on to be honest. Put some stupidly expired Polaroid branded film in it for a test roll. If the results impress, it might replace my Minox as primary pocket camera as I'm going off auto-exposure lately.

A year or so ago I swore to myself I’d never buy another bag…

Two weeks ago I bought the Peak Design Everyday Sling.

Superb quality and finish. I love the way it hugs my back, but with the strap extended, can be swivelled around to my chest, so I can change lenses etc.

Without being overly large, it’s deceptively spacious and accommodating when needed but packs small when not. So far, it’s proving ideal for my Fuji X-Pro2 and three lenses, batteries, charger and Kindle etc when I travel

Right now, it’s the last bag I’m going to purchase. But I’m not making this a promise.

I've just bought one 37mm and one 40.5mm kood skylight 1b filters. The blurb on the website says they are multicoated, but I'm not so sure. The reflections seem fairly white to me and all the multcoated stuff I've had, has a had a fairly green look. Although these are the first kood filters I've owned, the rest have always been Hoyas. So I suppose the difference could just be different coatings.

I've also bought (though not yet received), and 30mm SRB skylight 1b filter. A member of their staff told me all their sky 1b's are multicoated and made of glass, so let's see if there's a colour difference in the reflections between the srb and the koods.

I bought a 32.5mm-37mm step-up ring and a 37mm metal lens hood. They should be arriving with the 30mm srb filter.

EDIT: Just received the step-up ring, lens hood and 30mm filter. The reflections on the filter don't look any different to those of the kood filters. Funny thing though: the srb filter had either misted up as it was being put in the plastic case, or it did so the instant I opened the case. I had to spend a minute or so using some toilet paper to clean it off.

I forgot to mention I'd ordered a 30mm metal lens hood along with the other srb stuff. It looks quite deep. I hope it doesn't cause vignetting.

2nd EDIT: Actually checked both kood skylight filters and the 37mm one gives green reflection of my window, but the 40.5mm one gives a white reflection. Previously I thought I'd checked bot. I mustn't have. It still seems odd to me that 2 different examples of a sky light filter would give different-coloured reflections.

A Colortrac LifeScan 24-inch sheet-fed scanner, to scan my 5-year old daughter's artwork.

I ended up returning it, it had a scratch in the platen glass, and quality was not so hot anyway, due to the CIS element meant more for blueprint scanning than photo quality.

Replaced it with a Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600, about 25% cheaper than US street price when imported from Japan via an Amazon.com third-party seller.

Funny, how you never appreciate someone or something until it's gone. I let my Df get away because I figured it to be too expensive while doing nothing my D610 couldn't do. I instantly regretted it.

Yesterday, I re-ordered my universe with receipt of a DF and a 35/2 D lens. Two Nikon systems with two equally valid approaches to makinf images.

Ensign Selfix 820 6x9 folder with 105mm Xpres lens. Waiting for it now, the shutter fires and it unfolds okay I am told. I'm planning on taking it on a bike trip to the Pyrenees in September.

Within the past week I got a Polaroid Spectra System, Pentax MZ-S, a Pentax P3 with 50mm Lens, a Pentax ZX-M, and a bunch of film to shoot in them.

Another Color Skopar 35mm f2.5 C ltm buyer here! Along with a black Bessa R. Used to have these 14 years ago but stupidly sold them. So lovely to have them back!
