What have you just BOUGHT?

Dear dtcls,

I hope this works as well for me as it worked for the seller. It's kind of heavy but compared to 150-600 zooms it definitely doesn't feel overly heavy and it feels hand holdable to me.

I'm curious since you say you have the Adaptall version if your lens has the 43mm drop in filter ring? If so, can you recommend a source for skinny 43mm drop in filters? I'd like to get an ND and a polarizer.

My SP Adaptall does have the 43mm drop in filter (also accepts 112mm up front). I have taken the holder out, but never managed to unscrew the filter from the holder. 43mm filters are readily available at Amazon or eBay.

Not sure a polarizer would fit or work in the drop in slot as a practical matter.

A Bronica ETRsi!
Taking this thing apart is like stripping a gun. Lol.

A much more reliable way to shoot 6x4.5. My Yashica 12's shutter was too sticky.

The problem with any of the Tamron's that have the drawer for the 43mm filters is that they were made to use the very thin filters Tamron sold. Normal filters are too thick and won't go in or get stuck .

I've always wondered if a machine shop could put normal filters in a lathe and turn down the rims to where they'd fit..

Just got from KEH a pristine Nikkor 200mm F4 micro IF D lens which is all it has been reported to be. It is pretty heavy at about 3 lb.
but perfectly hand holdable on my D700 but I couldn't use it on a Giotto monopod, it was too clumsy for me. It works fine on my
tripod though. The great thing is that it is scary sharp and no distortion that I could see. We'll see how it fares but I'm looking forward to using it.

Got the M6 a month ago, the Hadley Pro two weeks ago and the Orion-15 arrived today.

A Leica paired with a Billingham bag is almost a cliché, but what the hey 😎
