Very keen to compare this against the 35mm f/1.4 Nokton.

A Coleman metal cooler!

A Coleman metal cooler!

Dear Board,

My Dad had one of these for about 20 years when I was kid. He eventually gave it to me and I got about 10 years out of it before it fell apart.

By then they weren't making them anymore. I suppose making things that last 30 years is bad for business?

I stopped by the Salvation Army store today hoping to find a cabinet to use for camera storage but I had no luck. As I was getting ready to leave I spied this bad boy.

For $ 3.99 it was a no-brainer. I'll get that money back the first weekend I use it in ice savings!

Kodak Retina 11a

Kodak Retina 11a

Dear Board,

I bought a Retina 11a from the big auction website. It was advertised as in working order and everything seems to be working as it should. Shutter speeds including the slow ones visibly change and the aperture works properly too.

It came with a bonus Kodak yellow filter and a case that is just about perfect. I was kind of surprised by how much smaller the 11a is compared to the 111c I already own. It's loaded with film and I guess I'll see what happens?

I just bought a Voigtlander 35 1.2 V1
for the guuuuullllppppp third time.....
If sometime in the future someone sees me put an ad in the classified please slap me LOL

My plan is to shoot mostly film and mate this lens to a Leica M5 which I have yet to buy...

For myself, I just bought my first Perfex, a one-o-one on eBay. This is the unusual model that comes with a Kodak Ektar from a Retina. Here's what it looks like.

It's a real oddball. But after a little cleaning, the shutter works, even at 1/500s. The shutter with the Wollensak lens that these normally came with was only capable of 1/125s, so this must have been a premium offering. The camera is pretty crude, the lens mount unscrews (it's left-hand threaded) if you focus too close. I'll probably try to run some film through it just to see how it does.
