All too true - keeping trying to deliver to next door *when we were in waiting for them* was 2024's classic.

To their credit they did deliver today, though the doorstep photo of my hand taking the parcel meant my crotch was somewhat emphasised in the shot...

Dear Board,

I have a number of telephoto lenses in Canon FD mount. But the 300mm f2.8 and 500mm f4.5 while handholdable on bright weather days are just too heavy to schlep around during a walk in the woods.

When a very clean 400mm f4.5 came up from a favorite US seller on Ebay I decided I'd give it a try. I made them a reasonable offer based on what comparable lenses with shipping were going for from Japanese sellers that I have dealt with, and they accepted it. I haven't walked in the woods with it yet, but it easily weighs 1/3rd or less than my other long telephotos. Hopefully I can get out this weekend with it attached to either an A-1 or T-90.

A 50mm f3.5 Konishiroku Hexar and 50mm f3.5 Canon collapsible. Both in great condition although the Hexar has got some discrepancies(cleaning marks and that, but no fungus or haze). The Canon is super clean! No scratches or haze, but does have the tiniest speck of fungus on the front element.

My plan is to send em out for a clean up(one at a time since I’ve ended up with one camera and one lens after the holidays) and sell the Hexar if I don’t end up with a Canon P. I’m thinking the baffles will be safe since it doesn’t collapse as deep as the Canon or an Elmar.
