What have you just BOUGHT?

Picked up a decent D700 couple weeks ago, $350 US 40k shutter, looks mint, not a scratch, likely kept in a closet unused for years. The colors & image quality I think are excellent, files easy to work with, it doesn't seem like 'only' 12mpx. I think there's something to the fuss & not just hype. Built like a tank but not as heavy/bulky like a D3.

Optical finder is a pleasure to use, while the flickering arrow/dot nails manual focus for me easier than peaking on mirrorless. Didn't think I'd ever say that or own another DSLR. Better imo colors/usage/features than any other Nikon I owned/rented before (N50, D50, D5100, D600 owned/sold; D800/D3/D7100 rented).

The D700 was a photojournalism powerhouse. For those who didn't need the D3's speed, the smaller size and 90% identical set of features on the D700 made it perfect for the job. I shot some of my best early photographs on that camera.
