What have you just BOUGHT?

Gogglified Summaron 35mm f2.8. Darn those goggles protrude a long way! Makes an M look pretty front on, but ugly top down. Might persuade me to keep my M3 DS after all.

Serves me right. I should only be looking at the back of the camera, or through the viewfinder! Less ogling, more shooting with the goggling.

Those shots Helen Hill posted with her recent classified for a copy of the lens were very warming.

Man, I haven't been as excited and enthusiastic about a camera since I got the M8! This little beauty is just pure joy to use and handle! Just arrived yesterday, got this from eBay for a very good price. It's in A- condition from what I can judge. No marks, dents, scratches, slight dust in VF and one single dust spot in the lens -- nothing dramatic for a camera that's almost twenty years old and has actually been used!

I just shot through a roll of cheap 24-exp. drugstore film and hope to have the results by early next week. Metering seems accurate, now here's to hoping the film was exposed properly! (Also hopefully no light leaks, no scratches, no user error 😱) I can't wait to go on shooting this baby ... 😀😀😀

Voigtlander build quality

Can someone tell me if voigtlander bessa bodies are metal please? I use an Olympus 35sp on an almost daily basis and enjoy the solid feel of an all metal body, However I don't enjoy taking my eye from the viewfinder to translate the EV meter reading to the lens. so, I am thinking of buying a bessa with the more traditional meter setting method and the ability to swap lenses around.
It may sound a superficial question, but I do like the solid feel of a metal camera. (cant afford a zees / leica )
 
20 Rolls of Lucky Color 200.

It's Cheap. I need film for a project in September.
The thing is; I know what the results from Lucky B/W 100 looks like. But I can't seem to find any in-depth reviews on Lucky Color 200. Only quotes from people who say it's fine to use. I hope they're not just Lomographists 😉
 
I recently got these. Man I can't believe how good the Rollei lens is.

I took these walking across the car park having put its first film in to check it worked. Look at those colours! Looks at that resolution on the low res scan! Heaven.

Yes, the recent Voigtlanders (R2 and later) are all metal, or at least, the exterior covers are all metal. The covers are made of some kind of magnesium alloy or composite, so the cameras feel lighter than Leicas and other classic 35s, but they feel solid and rugged. Furthermore, I think they look great.

Since you're into feel, have you held a Fuji X100? That's a camera that really feels like a 1960s rangefinder in your hands. (It also looks like and operates like one.)

Black M6 TTL 0.58 - the seller took the Hexar and a lens in part-trade. My M4 needs service and repairs, and will probably be away for several months. While the Hexar is a good camera, the viewfinder isn't as good for my eyes. The Leica 0.58 viewfinder is perfect for me with the 35mm lens.
 
Phoned my local camera dealer today to see if they had a Fuji X100 that wasnt on the backorder list(Ive been called every few weeks for months now)and to my surprise they had a couple available
Needless to say I ran down after work today a picked one up
I cant wait to try it out this weekend
 
Missed out on a Plaubel makina on this site, and then looking at them n the bay thought I would look for othe options. Settled on a Fuji GF670, arrives Tuesday and can't wait. Reviews are amazing. Think I will end up being happier with new Fuji than second Makina.
 
Picked up a Pany G1 w 20mm and spare battery. That's the third cycle for this camera -- it is far from perfect but it renders flesh tones better than any Canikon I've had and the focus has always been right on, I like the EVF with nearsightedness, the 4:3 proportions, and even the noise up to ISO 800. (I still hate the too-small grip and buttons and the plastic feel.)

That I could have gotten a new G3 instead speaks well for the original G1 design. Panasonic managed to snatch mediocrity from the jaws of success thanks to feature creep and me-too marketing decisions.

In a few months I'll crave a Nikon D300 and 35/1.8DX combo again, a man's manly camera with full-size controls... I know myself by now. Rinse and repeat....
