Last month I upgraded my old EOS 450D to a brand new 6D. While I usually favour primes over zooms, I kept a Sigma 70-300 handy for occasions like spying on neighbours or the odd super moon shot.
But that one's really doing me no favours on the 6D, so I figured I'd upgrade. After a month of reading reviews, weighing pros and cons, I settled on the affordable Canon 70-200 F4L lens, non IS version.
Since it's only an occasional use lens, I didn't want to go full out with the expenses. It does what I need during the daytime and while F4 isn't the fastest, combined with the good low light performance of the 6D and the fact that I'm not afraid to use a tripod… it'll be sufficient. It's one heck of a bargain in regards to the build quality and sharpness of the glass.
I'm expecting delivery tomorrow.
