What have you just BOUGHT?

Just yesterday, I placed an order through the auction site for this little queen...

In the meanwhile, I got news that my repainted M2 will get assembled this week, in all likelihood. Chances are that I'm gonna get two bodies coming in fairly close to each other. It's going to be like Christmas... 🙂

240mm F5.6 Symmar-S on Plaubel Makiflex Standard.

240mm F5.6 Symmar-S on Plaubel Makiflex Standard.

This arrived today from the UK. The 240mm f5.6 Schneider Symmar-S in barrel.
To replace a chrome 240mm Symmar with milky spots between the elements.
I have looked for one for a long time at a decent price, then this upgrade came along.
It needed a retaining ring, luckily I bought a few extra from Midwest Photo. Takes the same ring as the 250mm & 300 Imagons.
So I borrowed one of those to set it up. And I will need to cut another "flat plate" to fit the lens, also borrowed from the
Imagon. Not looking forward to having to make that

Anyway it is very clean and a definate upgrade from the chrome 240mm Symmar.
Shown focused at infinity on the Makiflex Standard. VERY sharp and contrasty lens.
And it matches my 150mm Symmar-S, which I have recently been using a lot.
Yes it's big but actually not that heavy and balances well on the Makiflex.
I have ordered more of the Wista tubes from China, for future use.

I made prints on Exhibition Fiber, Bamboo, Hot Press Natural, and Velvet Fine Art—my usual paper repertoire. All came out beautifully, both color and B&W, and match the on-screen rendering with high fidelity using my usual color-managed print workflow.

Happy happy.

Great, thanks a lot for the info. I think I'll order one.

Either the greatest score of my life or a horrible mistake.

All from a single seller, from the estate of the original owner. The seller did her best to do due diligence regarding these items, posting frequent photos and asking many good questions to a very experienced group at the Vintage Camera Collector's Facebook group. But, as a self-professed "non camera person", she could not really be expected to be a good judge of actual condition. But I felt that the price was worth taking a chance on it. So, among other things, this is what I really hope is not a big pile of junk.

Leica IIIc "stepper"
Leica M4 camera body w/ leather case
Collapsible Summicron LTM 5cm/2
Hektor 135/4
Summicron 1:2/50 (M mount)

E. Leitz Wetzlar Viewfinder 3.5-13.5 VIOOH
Leica Iufoo Lens Hood and Front Cover
Leitz Wetzlar Visoflex 90* viewfinder
Leitz Wetzlar Visoflex Straight
Leica Meter MR Metrawatt
Leitz Wetzlar #1yellow lens filter
Leitz Catalogs (41,43,44)
Tydings Guide to the Leica (1954)
Nikkor 8.5cm Viewfinder with case
Nikkor P.C. 8.5cm/2 LTM
Nicca Type III S w/ Nikkor-H.C 1:2 f=5cm
Kodak Retina IIIC f2/50
Schneider-Kreuznach Componar 1:4.5/50
(2)Weston Universal Exposure Meter Model 348
Weston Master II Universal Exposure Meter Model 735
Kopil Self Timer

plus various other doodads.

Hopefully, the M4 and at least one of the Summicrons are decent enough to be serviceable, if they are, the rest is gravy.

Exakta Mount Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 300mm f4
Exakta Mount Steinheil Muchen Auto-Tele-Quinar 135mm f3.5 with hood
Exakta Mount Topcon Topcor 135mm f2 hood

I wanted to buy a Exakta Viia and 50/2 Biotar, but the price was too expensive.

Lots of gravy! Congrats on that find, Mike!

My Minolta SR-T101 arrived today, sporting the MC Rokkor-PF 1.4/58 and a Minolta UV filter. All it needs is new seals, and it will be ready to use.

And two days ago the MD Rokkor-X 1.4/50 showed up, but needs some good cleaning of the interior.

Those are the two Minolta lenses I've had my eye on for the last few years. The wish list is getting shorter every week.
