What have you just BOUGHT?

I JUST BOUGHT A LEICA SL.......

actually an SL2..... and I have already reversed the Leitax-Nikon mount of my 90mm Elmarit 3 cam so I can use it with the Leicaflex.

I am undecided on reversing the 50mm Summicron 3 cam - the results on D700 are stunning.

What batteries are you going to use? It is a 1.35V system, no?

The meter, works and if I can find proper batteries that would be a plus....I bought my first meterless Nikon F in the mid sixties and I can still use the light meter in my head...but for less than $100 I thought I would see what the Leicaflex experience is all about. I have used the 90 Elmarit R a bit on an F2 and an F5.

received the Leicaflex SL today - they sent me a pristine SL not an SL2 ...it is so nice I'll keep it...did some research on the net and 357 battery works well for now ....meter reads 1 stop under exposed different from my Luna Pro so this will work fine.

Where did u get it from?

Adorama - used cameras - where I bought last month a beautiful "like new" very low count M8 for a terrific price.

Good to know. My experience w them was a bit different. A Nikon F I bought from them was in worse shape than described. (frame counter not working)

A packet of Mission Impossible SX70 B&W v2 and...

Got this camera today, seems a bit funky.. It came with batteries which look fine (!) but I need to put fresh ones in to see if the eratic shutter behaviour is battery related.
The AE-S head's coupling arm has lost its spring tension - it was there briefly then no more so maybe something disconnected - so I will first put my regular AE head from my XK on it to check if the camera is ok, and if so I will see if someone can repair the coupling on the AE-S head. Otherwise it will go back.
Hope it is an easy fix as the camera looks pristine.

It's a long time since I've had anything to boast about in this thread. Today I bought a Pentax 50mm f/1.4 lens in M42 mount and in excellent condition for a reasonable price. It was only after I got it home and checked on the web that I realized it is the (apparently) rare Super-Takumar 8-element version. I've mounted it up on the Spotmatic to give it a run tomorrow.

The Konica IIIa arrived yesterday. First impressions are very favorable. It feels like a little brick and gives the impression of a very solid build. The 1:1 VF is amazing.

It does appear to have been overhauled as stated in the sale. Rangefinder is aligned at infinity and has good contrast, lens looks clean, the shutter is in the ball park and functioning at all speeds, self timer works and the LV interlock was removed at some point in this Konica's life. Turning the LV dial adjusts aperture alone, it is not locked to shutter speed.

Camera is in very good shape. Obviously used but still very pretty and not so mint that I would be afraid to use it. I have to keep my eye open for an original lens cap, case and the screw in shutter release button. This one was missing those but that is likely part of why it was only $140.

Looking forward to shooting the first roll! Have to decide if it will be B&W or color.....

If you want to keep your shutter working, don't switch shutter speeds when the camera is cocked. You'll end up losing your 25 and 50 speeds. This is the only fragile thing on this camera; the speed selector plate wears a lot faster against a cocked mechanism. Word from Greg Weber.
